    Round 1 results R1_sco10

Provisional score of 787 for the week, which puts us last in the celebrity league.

Squad selection was pretty good, even if we were let down a bit by leaving 3 of our highest scorers in NPRs
In MKing/Tago/Schneider/Crichton we got the big cashies right on scores so far. And with the possible exception of Ilias, we avoided all the injuries/outright failures

Any ideas for our first trades.

Personally I am happy to hold on Ilias (unless Billy Walters gets a start). Rabbitohs were poor but will improve, and his scores should improve along with them

I guess the other question is whether we want to get Haas in, Would mean trading out some big names, so might be a bit of a knee jerk reaction

Don't think we have any injury concerns, which is a plus.

Any trade ideas post here and a poll will go up after TLT

    Ditch Burton, pick up Tago.
Save some cash for the Cleary fund.

We already own Tago. he is in our NPRs. Just that nobody trusted him (or Crichton) to score well in a Clearyless team against Manly.

If we had played Crichton and Tago over Penisini and Ilias, we'd be on 853 and riding pretty high

(Currently Lone Scout leads the celebrity league on 854)

Depending on how long Hodgson is out for, Starling could be a good pick up for scores and cash generation.

Captain options you're either hoping Papenhuyzen and Fifita get some much higher scores or have to get Haas in.

I am not desperate to get rid of anyone in the team though.

Unless TLT throws a surprise, no trade is my opinion too.

I'm surprised about the Tedesco pick, and personally didn't even consider him. I wouldn't be opposed to dumping him in favour of a high scoring mid priced cow with a well defined role (Wilton? Clifford?) to build a Cleary bank....

But normally I wouldn't trade out guns. Maybe I'm just dirty on the Tedesco pick.

I think hold fire, no one in that team is an immediate trade out.

Probably best to give the team a chance to fire. No super hot cows missing but to provide a difference of opinion if we want to go more aggressive.

    Option 1: Gun and Cow

    Lolo -> Grant
    funded by
    Clark -> J. King

or Option 2: Cow + Bank

Lolo -> cow (Wilton, J. King)
    (i.e. build bank for Cleary)

Lolo isn't getting the role and apart from pre-season articles there is no reason to think this will change. Not a keeper and not a cow.
If we could get a gun like Grant who should get the minutes with current injuries I'd do that but we don't have the cash and I can't see another player with the exception of Clark who needed that 3 TB, Try (i.e. 14 of his 45 points) to be a cow that we want.

Starling as an option depending time Hodgson is out for. Otherwise hold the trades. Nobody really saying trade me tho.

I agree with above, Starling as well pending news
If you wanted to be aggressive you could trade Taumalolo out for this and hope for similar scores while banking the difference (Using Mann to cover 2rf)

On the fence with Taumalolo, its the body language like he isn't interested
Also the way he was used wasn't ideal even if he scored ok, no ball playing or running at gaps.
I guess the hold part is he still scored ok and plays the first bye but if he hits 45's for 12 weeks you wouldn't be happy

Burton/hynes covers Schneider this week while you could play both panthers

The biggest issue like most is going to be finding a mil if you want cleary soon without trading 2 guns
So if you plan on trading Taumalolo regardless in 3 weeks for this, then perhaps do it now with the hope a cheapie makes some cash to help fund it.
On the same token if Cleary was available to start with I reckon Taumalolo doesn't make the team anyways so is a luxury
Answering this is possibly helping me with my own team when looking at it this way

Someone like Uto has more upside even if he didn't go quite to plan as its his role hasn't changed it just how much game time he gets

Hodgson supposedly only 2-3 weeks so I'd say steer clear of Starling.

My vote would be no trades, use Schnieder as a loop to have a look at Crichton or Tago.
Also get Ilias out of the 17.

I'd be happy to hold too. Ranta's options are interesting, but I'd probably prefer to wait until Cleary is back. I suspect injuries or suspensions will make our choice clearer then, and hopefully better cows emerge.

Agree with Filth on getting Ilias out of the 17 (or at least a loop option in 18 with Schneider in 17). Possibly Mann to HLF? I'd be picking Crichton or Tago over Penisini this week too.

Will put a poll up tomorrow morning.

Any suggestions put them in here

but basically main options seem to be do nothing, or make a trade involving Lolo/Teddy to get a gun/good performing middie in.

i think we can ignore the Starling suggestion given Hodgson not as bad ads first thought, but can always include him in a poll in case people want to do it.

Nothing to see here. I like Ranta’s suggestions but am happy to just roll forward.
