519/12 with Haas (c), Mann, Randall, Tuilagi & M. King to play. I prefer these lower fantasy scores it's getting back to how it use to be where 900+ was an excellent score. Last year when you had to score 1100 to make any rank progress it was turning into sc.

Mahoney update is sweet. 51 is only 3 off my best performing player so far this week. When Haas has his quiet one it will look like a solid captain choice.

I’m enjoying the less points, it’s the same for everyone but it feels like it might favour those who plan a bit more? Last season I was ranked about 15k after 2 weeks and felt miles away, this year I might be ranked worse but it still feels in range.

I know he’s not an edge, but didn’t Munster get -28 on Thurs too. Seems like a hell of a week for demerits.

I agree the best part of fantasy is planning & you have to earn your points by doing research into players stats & making the best trades. The last couple of years & especially last year it wasn't the case.

With a lot of cash cows failing, I can see a lot more teams pulling the pin halfway through this year. Going to be a real anomaly of a year.

I captained Crichton for that game. Think he still scored about 60 but frustrating as hell.

Thing with Nanai... his defence wasn't even *bad* (there was the mistake where he didn't get under the ball for the try. The three tacklers should have stopped CHN and there should have been no need for him, but he still should have done it, he'll learn). I'm sure Todd Payten is happy with his defence overall though, given his team only gave up six points.

What he does - which is bad for fantasy - is rush up for first contact, stopping the play but not making the tackle, which teammates make. Maloney was similar - had a rep for being a terrible defender based on stats, but if he was that bad how come so many of his team's won championships on the back of great team defence?

(Not the the Cowboys will be winning a championship, but you know what I mean.)

Yeah there's games where CHN does the same thing, rush up and bounce off

Oh dear. I'm looking at Hess as a Bully replacement. Ok scores, starting, Dunn injured, R13.

Makes me feel dirty. And I hate waking up feeling filthy on a Sunday without anything to show for it.

Man my captain scoring 44 points seems bad.. but when it's the second highest score in my team, I am not really allowed to complain right? It's on me the teams shit.

Giving up is for pansies. My Plan B is to trade one of my guns for two middies. Started with Haas, Crichton, Mahoney, and D.Fifi. I will hold all 4 and just cop someone's disgusting score unless I have to play too many of my disgusting "cows". As always, fresh cows will pop up sooner or later (I just need around 6 of them to pop up at this stage)

Keep an eye out for Faitala-Mariner's return mate 400K and should be worth the trade up.

Of course he might not immediately walk into the doggies, but he should.

Yep Brailey looking like last years Mahoney.

Hynes has brought a better attacking dynamic to the Sharkies and even Moylan seems to have synced better.

Brailey looks like a chief beneficiary.

I wonder how much influence fantasy scores have over how a player plays. At the end of the day it's based on statistics so it's not a terrible predictor of performance.

Watching the game, Nanny didnt play all that bad. He was very involved but had a tackle technique which is terrible for fantasy scoring. Similar to how Fifita used to get a TB for a slap on somebodies chest (not a real TB in my opinion) Nanny got -2 for almost threatening to tackle but then falling off mid commitment. It wasn't ineffective in the game, he was actually stopping players and making defensive moves he just wasn't holding on. There was some genuine bad tackles and complete misses when charging down, but overall his defense wasn't too bad. At least in my opinion.

Wonder if he see his score and changes his tackle technique. As silly as it sounds it may have some influence. Combination of ego and a reality check on what he is doing in the game.
