843 for the week, rank 16k, $223k in the bank
Make a play for Cleary? Anyone else we want?
Lost patience with Fifita?

Re: R5 discussion
If prioritising Cleary then think we have enough for Sexton & Clark to Cleary & Koula? (*1)
Plenty more options if we use Difi instead (*2), but may want to suck it up and hold now.
Or give up on Cleary and use the cash to upgrade others (Clark to Cotter? (*3) Sexton to one of the Parra halves? (*4)) Or jump on the May cash train (from Clark), keep bank and wait a week or two for Cleary (*5).
I'd be inclined to do either *1 or *5.

Re: R5 discussion
Not sure about selling Fifita either, although we could go Fifita to Haas in one trade (admittedly for about $160k more than at the start of the season).
Otherwise Sexton to DCE in one trade?
Without Turbo, Koula might have more job security but (assuming he ends up on the wing) is he going to tank just like Saab and to a lesser extent Garrick without Turbo to make him look good?

Re: R5 discussion
At base price $220k I think Koula is a bit of a no brainer? May not have massive weeks but doesn't need to at that price.
My first thought was the same as Rhino's option 1, Sexton and Clark to Cleary and Koula. However it does mean we'd have to be comfortable playing one of probably Thompson, Ilias or Koula in the 17, which doesn't seem great.

Re: R5 discussion
I think Sexton and Clarke are good trade options. Question is who for.
I like Cleary and Koula, although personally I’m waiting on Cleary.
DCE and May or Haas and May are other options, pending news on Haas.

I like Clark and Sexton to Cleary who is up against the Bulldogs and a nice Captain option. Then play Thompson or Ilias in the 17.

Re: R5 discussion
If we got DCE would it be instead of Cleary/ as a stepping stone to Cleary / as well as Cleary?
I can see the value in waiting on Cleary, but not sure trades are best spent bringing DCE in. Makes it hard to get Cleary as well, and seems a waste of trades to have DCE for just a few weeks.

Re: R5 discussion
But are we sure we don't want to trade Lolo????
Clark out seems like a no brainer.
I don't like trading Sexton out yet. Goalkicking, dominant kicker (if they actually complete sets), attacking upside. Questionable base with all the missed tackles but feel he could be a cut price keeper or a low end cow with a few good games (100k price rises). He's never strung together a complete performance yet but if the titans get rolling at any point I feel he has real upside.
I don't have D. Fifita but he seems like a gut call. Either cut him free now or accept that his big games will come. Personally I'd keep him - downside feels minimal compared to the ceiling. Would be a likely trade in if he strings the good scores we know he is capable of together. Unless it's for an ultra reliable Cleary I wouldn't bother.
Either a no trade or single trade (Clark) week for me. Not sure if there is a better option out of Koula or May. Personally think Koula is lower risk for similar potential price gains - only depends on if we want a consistent scorer for the 17 which may sway me to May. Koula will leave us likely a single trade away from Cleary.
Wouldn't get Cleary yet but its getting closer to lineball on the points now vs smaller expected cash drop. Especially because he will carve up the broncos next week with 15 goalkicks.................

Also, Jele / Robelgordo
I am in the process of moving house, and after this week am going to have potentially unreliable net access for a few weeks. Are one of you able to take over running the polls / team changes
I will contribute when I can, but can't guarantee availability.

I think previously Jele said could do polls/team changes, but isn't able to do loops and things with quick turnarounds, which I can do.
For this week, I'm pretty tempted just to get Cleary/Koula
Clark is one part of the other half of the equation. I'd still be tempted to move on Lolo over Sexton or DFifi. In his favour, is last weeks score. Against is that DFifi and Sexton still both look more likely to score well in the future IMO.

I think I this is the way I’d lean as well. Better to get Cleary before he’s gets a banner than afterrobelgordo wrote:

Re: R5 discussion
I like Koula for the Cleary cash, and named at FB is a bonus if he stays there.
Clark and then Sexton out of the 567k+ options to afford Cleary looks good to me. Happy to hold Fifita and wait for the big ones. Really just leaves Sexton or Burton and feel Burton might saves us a CTR trade at some point.
Taumalolo and Mann are too important to our mids imo. WFBs look good too.

I'd missed we would be playing Leo if selling Lolo. So yeah, I think Sexton out.

Mentioned already but Sexton + Clark for Cleary and Koula is the way I'd lean.

Happy to help out, but yeah won’t be able to
make quick changes responding to late mail etc.
Agree Koula named at FB is a no-brainer now.
