I’d gone to the nail biter the week before against Tigers, and got so blind drunk by half time - was so nervous I was drinking beers faster than they could sell them to me - that I couldn’t even remember which end Soward kicked the FG from.
Regret not trying harder to get GF tickets, money was tight and figured we’d make and win plenty more. But that privilege is only reserved for Roosters and Storm fans, apparently.
But I do remember watching with a bunch of mates who were nervous at HT because we were losing 8-6 and just feeling completely zen. Just on game flow could tell the Dragons would run them over in the 2nd half, which we duly did. Second favourite footy moment behind the Steelers winning the 1992 Tooheys Challenge.
I sadly got tickets to the game along with what seemed like 70,000 Dragons fans. Roosters robbed when BMoz was easily out for the first try. Going into the break up 8-0 against a Dragons team that struggled to chase points for 2 years would have been a very different game
