Ponga gets a banner and it feels like the response is "meh, it's Ponga, he's a gun and that is business as usual".
Talakai cracks a banner and everyone loses their shit.
Ponga cost all of 8k more than Talakai this week. Who do you back to be higher scoring over the season? (Rhetorical)

In the 4 weeks of Talakai being at CTR that is clearly not the case.
He created the try scored under the posts where he kicked back to the middle. The other 8 tries have all been left side in the last 2 weeks. Running the ball under the posts doesn't make it a try created in the middle.
In the Knights game most of their tries were left side as well. Tolman scored on the left side and the Talakai try.
Wilton has 3 tries in 6 games at left EDG.
Wilton's first two tries were games 1 and 2 when Talakai was playing mid off the bench.

Mulitalo legit good player, just saying not at 576k for fantasy IMO. Revs - if you got him 2-3 weeks earlier then it’s a different story.

Honey Badger wrote:Talakai vs Staggs will be an interesting watch next week. I remember the last time Talakai marked up against Staggs, Staggs had a field day scoring two tries and Talakai wasnt seen in the ctrs for the rest of the season.
I remember this because I had a gut feel Staggs would dominate given Talakai was a backrower playing out of position, but I ended up not trading Staggs in only to watch him score 80 odd points.
I only watched 2nd half last night, but Talakai doesn't strike me as a defensive CTR. He's defense looked average, albeit he was able to be in the right place most of the time

Well said Revraiser, as a long suffering Knights fan, if (or hopefully when) they get their shit together and start pushing up into the top 4, I'll be enjoying the ride - as you should now.
Fantasy is just a side-hustle compared to actually following a team.
The minority teams like the 'leave the porch light on' Sharks, and the 'We are from a mining town' Knights deserve it more i say

Yes, the supposed stats were meant to have been over the season, so are clearly incorrect. Wilton's tries the first 2 rounds are part of calling it out.BCT05 wrote:

Getting the ball to Talakai early in sets was how they were getting on the front foot. They stopped doing that and paid the price.

Fortitude wrote:Not taking anything away from Talakai. But Harper was fucking dreadful in defence, and subsequently got hooked.
Yep, Talakai obviously had him rattled from that very first try and him and Saab were back pedaling every time it came down their side in that first half. Makes such a difference when the defence is going backwards compared to the second half where they were coming up in a line. To simplify it down to "the Sharks are dumb to not keep just passing the ball to Talakai in the second half" is rubbish.
Anyway, Sharks are a top team and Talakai is a gun fantasy centre as things stand so well done all owners.
Side note just realised there is only one game on tonight which is dissapointing and it's the shit start time again (always a bit late for NZ)

Maybe I'll ask about Edrick again when the Talakai dick kissing stops
97 in one half and 10 in the second will be hard to beat as a swing lol.

For mine, Panthers, Storm & Sharks look well clear of the next best teams as present

Panthers and Storm, then a gap, then the Sharks, then another gap and the Eels and Roosters then Souths and Manly (with the Roosters being the one who could jump them all if they get it together, and Souths/Manly as ones who could improve when their gun fullbacks are back and could impact the post-season but won't finish top four). Then there's a battle for 8th.
Yes i see it exactly the same, except for the Bunnies. Like a couple of others i thought preseason they finish lower table and it still looks the same to me.

Sorry probably been spoken about a bit, but I missed it. Are most people happy with Edrick's JS? Now that Koula looks OK for a spot thinking of Walters to Edrick rather than letting him rot. The 30 odd is a good start, but a couple of tough games coming up could be a single-digit score, so needs a good run in the team.
My thoughts are even when Young comes back (who is also pretty shit) Edrick is ahead of the other 2 fullas anyway.
Koula looked great defensively (mind you anything would look good compared to a steaming first half turd). Only issue is that Des rates Harper more and Tommy comes back in 2-3weeks. Harper probably struggling with Long Covid but if he can play, Des will play him. Koula is a risk in the immediate term. But, if you need a cheap cash out, he should get a couple of games in over the next 10 weeks and should tick along.
I'm flicking Vailea or Paulo to him next week
