Do you want another low 40s scorer in your 17?

If not do you want to spend $461k on a cash cow that you don't want in your 17 and could get an HIA any game and be out for weeks?

People will have low 40s scorers in their 17s for months yet. Even post Origin most top teams still have 1-2 every week.

Any player could get a HIA and be out for weeks. We all thought the same about Papy, who has a similar history. A couple of weeks ago - HIA and cleared. Amazing! I’m not a neurologist so not going to speculate there.

There aren’t many cheap playable cows so an expensive one might be ok. Could be worse - could cost 115k more.

I don't think he'll be coming back in the halves anyway. Most likely centre

As an interesting comparison, in Turbo's stand out season last year from a cheap price point, his BE never went below 10. This week Talakai's BE is -15!

because talakai's priced dropped before going up.

    Talakai bottomed out at $325k.
Turbo started at $477k and only went up.

Zero chance Talakai hits the continual level that Turbo did. Zero.
Great for making money and hopefully a set-and-forget centre though!

Think I can hold trades for a week with this lot or best to keep trading and improving?

    Starling
    Lolo, Mann, Ming
    Wilton, Fermor
    Cleary, Schneider
    Burton, Penisini
    Hynes, Papy, Critter

    Randall, Clark, Nanai, Tuilagi
    Ilias, Leo, Lee, Smith

Only 30k in the bank so no room for big moves really.

Jeez our teams are similar LB. You have stronger edges, I have Haas. You have Clark, I have SWalker. Those are the only discernable notable differences. Explains why we're both travelling so poorly so far (though inside top 20k here for 2nd week straight, woo!)

Fwiw I double traded and got Tevaga and Koula this week

Agree. Think hes priced at about where he could average from here (ie, if you buy him this week, his average for your team is not the same as his season average).

Anyway.. shall be interesting. Could go large again tomorrow. If he continues to go large then im now being stubborn

I started with him so ideally I should have traded him last week when he peaked. Classic case of holding someone for an extra bye round number!

There's a lot I don't like about that as a trade-in (largely how late it is), but there's something to be said for someone who can make you good cash and fast.

The problem is it's now a really difficult trade to facilitate and whereas last week you probably wanted 45-50's, now you want 55+'s - I mean it's possible. It's a consideration for mine.

Even if he "only" scores 45 for the next two weeks, he's still making you almost $100k in that time which is a very quick, big cash boost.
Even if you don't think he's worth the cash currently/he's not a keeper, you're not going to get a better opportunity to make such quick cash with an upside with the potential to be very big indeed... in a year people are struggling to make money.

Surprised more aren't having more than a sniff at that.

@robelgordo here's your Roberts update: Roberts has been carrying a lower back injury for a while and was a late withdrawal from the game last weekend. He too is facing an indefinite period out of the game.

Timoko to Hastsing a good trade?

Been burnt by Timoko to start the year but not sure if I want to trade out a round 13 player.

    Thoughts lads?

Lots of good CTRs available this season, Hastings looks like the only good value half capable of keeper level scores.

I expect that anyone missing Hastings this week will regret it in coming weeks, like Starling was for many.

Thanks for the update, really should’ve saved 70k and got Koula. Spooked by benching, should’ve looked at the long-term.

Hastings has better long term job security and lower BE.
    Jazz plays round 13.
I am getting both this week.

Probably the last week to get Jazz given potential job security issues to make enough cash at a low price point.
Hastings likely still a buy next week, but might be $50k more expensive.
