To an extent I would agree. Some people (myself included) get too caught up in bye numbers and end up spending 2 trades on marginal players. I haven't seen it suggested here, but I wouldn't bring in players like Kyle Flanagan or Jordan McLean that don't tick the box for keeper or cow. But if you are cashing down to base price or close to (Saab, Savage, Vailea) or grabbing a keeper at a reduced price (Tohu, Angus) these are solid trades any week that also get you extra points on the field this week

My advice is always to lock in as many of the captaincy options as you can (Burton, Angus, Tohu, Robson) and take it from there

Agree completely in regards to guys like McLean/Flanno, but what do you think of guys like Sexton? Could be a keeper if the role remains as it is. But then could also be a trade out? Worth the trade in and possible trade out?

    Am thinking Ilias/Schneider/Crichton for Savage/Sexton/Tohu

How serious is Isaako injury. I'd like Sexton better with goal kicking.

Keen to see how Cotter goes in the Qld jersey, we haven't had a decent lock since Parker & Johnson retired.

I think people are jumping the gun on Hastings. Last 2 weeks he has still touched the ball more than any other Tiger, despite the poor scores. The opportunity for points is still there. Gets a week off to rest his leg and every chance to come back firing. Between the byes he plays Manly, Dogs, Warriors - which is as good a draw as a poor team can hope for

To top it all off, Beth is trading him out. So prep yourself for the rants and how he has wronged her by forcing the trade out. Its much more fun to be smug when you own the player whose big scores other people are hating on.

Might go alright during origin and with guys like Taumalolo injured. But at full strength cowboys not sure he gets the role you'd want for him to make enough cash to be worth it.

Not much of a source, but here says right to play likely.

But article on nrl.com says likely to play and won't paste here for Rev reasons.

    https://www.titans.com.au/news/2022/05/30/injury-report-fifita-sidelined-sexton-cleared/

Says here Isaako, Sexton and Fermor should be fine.

Three other Titans suffered minor injuries in the Macca's Local Derby but are expecting to be available for selection this week.

Beau Fermor finished the match with a right ab oblique strain, whilst Jamayne Isaako suffered a right shoulder hyper-abduction, but showed good strength post game and has been diagnosed with a low grade capsule / ligament strain.

There's further good news for Gold Coast playmaker Toby Sexton who left the field nearing half-time with a shoulder complaint. The young half was able to return to the field late in the game and was found to have only suffered left cervical spine stiffness with no further neurological symptoms.

He is expected to avoid contact training until later this week but will be right to play come Thursday.

EDIT: Rev ninja'd the shit out of me.

It’s quite a fine line choosing who I want this week. If I grab Tohu and Angus and they continue to average 55+ it will be hard to trade them to round 17 players when the time comes. Whereas getting someone that averages 45+ you’d be happy for their points and then be happy to move them on in 17.

Wonder what the go is with Schuster. Was hoping he would go back to starting edge last week. Guess he will be playing half this week?

Like instead of Tohu/Angus do you go with a JFH/Vaughan for instance and hope for a month of 45+ scores and then be happy to move them to Round 17 keepers?

Umm, if you have Angus and Tohu averaging 55+ they are keepers. No point coming out of Round 17 with a team of spuds who played the bye. Need to keep some guns or you get run down from behind. Been there done that unfortunately.

I think if you are bringing in Tohu or Angus you are doing so as keepers, not as potential trade outs down the track.

We all know how disastrous injuries can be down the track, so likely wont have the luxury of moving them on even if they underperform.

Yeah, look I agree with both these posts. Just saying that positional coverage doesn't matter in a bye round. You could trade down to having only one half, say Cleary (and moving up Burton for the week). And if you're trade ins genuinely make your team better, by temporarily having too many hookers (Robson) or too many MID/EDG's (Angus) with a view to bringing in halves the following week by selling surplus hooker (Starling) or surplus MID/EDG's (Ming), it's a good strategy. It was riskier last year because if Cleary if rested and Burton a one week suspension you suddenly have no halves and only two trades whilst trying to fix other issues. At least this year, in that unlikely scenario, you have an opportunity to fix it. (I'm not saying Ming is a definite trade next week, he might be, was just an example)

I'm not quite sure how I'll play rd13, need info on Lolo, TPJ and Scneider etc. If all three play (unlikely) I could probably field a full team if I wanted. I've held Lolo and Burton all year so it's not like I'm burning trades bringing them in. I probably want Angus, it's not like bringing him in is wasting a trade on a bye playing dud either. I desperately need a WFB, so whilst someone like Walsh isn't setting the world on fire, he would definitely improve my current WFB of Hynes, Koula, Kiraz Vomit

Beyond Angus and Walsh, it is starting to feel any more than that is starting to push dud trades just to get bye numbers given that I already have Robson, Butcher, Harris, Burton (Lolo, TPJ, Ming etc)

looking to go Ilias to Savage
then have abit in the bank.

was going to go Hastings to Tohu just as it makes the team better i think.
Hastings has gone great this season when not impacted by injury (first 2 games and last 2 games playing injured). He looks like a buy to me, not a sell. Gets 2 weeks to recover now. I expect that those who sell him will regret it.
