I applaud you on being so accepting & putting it behind you & not letting it get to you. Way to go brother. An awful bit of very bad luck.

This feeling of happiness due to some very good opening game scores has been severely lacking this season. I love it

Sorry about your Captaincy troubles - there's a good adrenaline kick when you're trying to rollback a team, re-order it, adjust it to the trades you want and then select Captains - knowing you've only got 1 minute left on the clock, but it could go before that...

Anyway, given (almost) everyone here is an accountant and probably busy doing some personal tax returns for family/friend/neighbour, he's a little math to make you feel better.

    23 regular rounds * 18 players (17 + 1 Captain) = 414
    2 bye rounds @ 26 players (because I think you'll have about that many) = 26

414+26 = 440 player scores across the whole season. You're mistake drops that to 439.
It sucks to lose the points, but you know, 439/440 isn't that bad eh?

    Alternatively;
My team scored more than 150 points under par last week (766) - sometimes things happen, but tomorrows a new day, and next week it will be all forgotten (unless it's like that time Robelgordo tried to use Aitken in a loop after he'd already played... affraid )

Introducing FPL style "chips" could be fun

Bench boost, free hit for an origin round, triple captain could all be fun additions

A wildcard would be super fun as well, but it a bit different to FPL given how much more important the economy is in NRL Fantasy 9and how in FPL you can also just buy trades for points)

Would love one free hit a season for NRL F.

Yeah, if Cows are making the finals every year he's a shot.

NSW Selectors take a lot more notice of the good Sydney teams, then good teams, then Sydney teams, then the rest. I think Addo-Carr would attest to that. I've heard an argument he was dropped as out of form because he rushed out of the line to let a try in on the weekend. Which is bullshit, because that's exactly how he has always defended at the Storm as well. Other line has been to counter the height of Coates and Cobbo but To'o is about 5'4". They should just be honest and say he looks less flash when playing on the end of the backline of a crappy team.

A side effect of this is recruitment impact for bottom teams. What rep player in their right mind would sign for a bottom 4 team now knowing that you are basically ending your rep career? Will we soon start to see rep players at perpetual cellar dwellers like Cook, Murray, Latrell and Arrow join better teams like the Bulldogs?

I think they need to credit him with the extra try and a Fifita-esque accompaniment of complimentary stats - because it's entirely unreasonable that he should be effectively penalised by a terrible pass from the Chad.

I await Rabbits/TK or some other social-hero to file the paperwork with the appropriate office

Since I can't control my trade urge I would definitely be in favour of buying trades for points as a new feature. At least I wouldn't run out of trades like I do every year lol.

One of my fond memories is from three years ago.
We travelled to Rarotonga for a weeklong mid-year break.

As it turned out I had booked it for the first bye-week.
I'm usually a fairly bye-focused player and normally cut my rank significantly in the two bye-rounds.

I was ranked 996th heading into it with good bank and 4 big trades planned (but didn't want to trade too early in case of late outs).

Anyway, arrive in Rarotonga and discover that despite being Vodafone with roaming data in like 150+ countries, the Cook Islands was not one such place.
We were staying in an AirBnb type house, and basically the setup is a Router, you purchase a Wifi code from the local Supermarket and that's how you get internet access.

So rush out on the Friday evening, drive 1/4 of the way round the island, spend like $50 for 500MB, get home and discover the router is on the Fritz and find out that BlueSky? (the local ISP) will come fix it on Monday, pretty much everything but the market shut over the weekend.

Still, tropical island, what are you going to do... drink lots of cocktails on the beach is what

haha the troll at the end

It's nowhere near NBA level with their superteams, but feels like a lot pf players willing to take small pay cuts to join or stay with "good teams" already. Teams getting better at managing their caps, plus the cap not being as restrictive as it was back then, makes all this easier to manage for teams too.

Can see it getting like the 1980s where it's kinda the same teams there or thereabouts year after year, if it hasn't already.
