And if he scores a 30 something loses another +40k

Why would they not release him? Its now of no benefit to keep playing him. Tualagi would be in similar risk.

I just don't like writing off a season like that only half way through. What happens in 12 months when we still suck? Write off that season as well in June and just get flogged for 3 months?

Its not like we have quality up and comers begging to be given a start ahead of Leilua, and his 2023 replacement has already been signed, but we're 0% chance of getting iPap early.

Its just sad that since we last made finals, multiple teams have dropped below us, rebuilt, and then dropped below us again, and Tigers do nothing but enter a new rebuilding phase every couple of seasons.

I would expect he and Nanai are 80 min EDGs.

Gilbert moves to big minute MID rotation with Lolo and Cotter. Probably most impacts each of those 3, not needing as many minutes from each of them.

You'd think Payton introduces him off the bench to learn the cows system. Helps they've got a bye though.

    Full strength 2022:
    Cotter McLean ~ Brown Neame
    Leilua Nanai ~ Gilbert
    Lolo
    14 Granville / Lemuelu

Rebirth of the Luciano passes the eye test and plays the bye

Except he hasn’t passed the eye test this year

    Ignore me lol

I would expect this to possibly affect Lolo and the fringe middles the most. Lucy and Nanai on the edges allows for Gilbert to spend more time in the middle.

    - From round 1-7 he averaged 66 minutes across 6 games. Discounting his injury affected game last week, from R8-12 he averaged 56 minutes.
    - No scores over 60 since R7 which is not great by his standards at least.
    - Dodgy shoulders.
    - The great form of Carrigan and Jensen, even Flegler is stepping up means there's been no need to play big minutes lately.
    - Is going to miss R17.

He's still a keeper I suppose but I just wonder if there's better value to be had elsewhere.

I've literally been saying this for two months. For his price, he isn't (Wasn't even) scoring what you want. He was scoring around 50's, which wasn't enough for his price. Easy sell as it was ages ago

Feel like it's time to pull the trigger and get Tino and/or Carrigan. The men are onn a mission and origin is only going to make them better. Both the heart and soul of their clubs at the moment...

I sold at the same time due to him carrying an injury which could affect scores, missing that week and then missing rd13, and rumours of another off field incident and high BE. I got it mostly right, but it was never a slam dunk. Ultimately we got a bit lucky that his scores reduced, he could have just as easily belted out big scores for massive regret, and now a pretty unlucky injury to the other shoulder now. Would I trade him now? Not sure, would want more news.
