There is a report that Alex Twal is expected to be ruled out for the season + World Cup due to “concussion protocols” after suffering his 2nd concussion of 2022. Would be unprecedented in the NRL for a player to be ruled out for 5 months the day after he suffered a concussion.

Closest we have seen is Keegan Hipgrave, who suffered a concussion in Round 13 2019 & 2 months later was ruled out for the season as a precautionary measure. Standard protocols a 6 stage process with most NRL players back in 2-3 weeks. A story to monitor, overall hope Twal is OK

This seems like a polite way of saying the original story is pretty doubtful.

I think we are all just taking on board and / or learning the realities of concussion. Gone are the ignorant tough man days as now we know what it leads to later in life, and not even that much later in many cases.

Brooks set to be dropped, apparently. Douehi 5/8th, one week to watch him then woof.

    Yeah agree

It just seems like ruling Twal out for the season one day after a concussion, as was reported, is not how it works. It's very complicated and seems like it takes time to figure out each case and what is required for recovery.

I went too early on Douehi last year - got him I think R5/6, and he scored really well BUT I got him instead of Turbo. And then he got shifted to the centres. And then I couldn't bring him back when he was back in the halves after Origin.

But yeah 61 average at 5/8 last season, can't see it repeating, but 50-55 at a discount price is possible.

Classic NRL reported taking a few words out of context is my guess.

WT source probably said something a long lines of "we don't know how he will pull up, we'll take every precaution, he may be out a couple of weeks, he may be out the rest of the season, we can't say for sure at this stage'

Hooper headline- "twal out for the season!"

Seems on WT forum a few are sceptical about Brooks dropped because source is also Hooper

I don't know if fantasy footy has enhanced or ruined my viewing experience.

Rep round footy is great and all but it's missing that element of "Yes Carrigan got away an offload to hand, 4 points for me!".

    I'm a real nerd.

    I know that feeling hahaha

Although, on the other hand, sometimes it is nice to just watch a game and not have to worry about your guys scoring poorly, or that guy you don't own carving it up and costing you ranks.

Everytime I read an opinion piece on Fox Sports I find myself disagreeing with the author on principal. They are quite the shower of self regarding shunts and I bet most of them made up their own nicknames.....you write (but mostly just shout) about football not play it you bunch of plonkers!!

Holding Hastings might slightly tip the scales from stupid move to passable decision

Enhanced. Before I was lucky to watch one game a week.

Now my wife has to plan our lives around 8 games a week. And I don't play in any of them.

I often wonder that about a few of the users here. A lot of times I read posts and just wonder if it is all worth it for them. I am guilty of it myself no doubt as well, but in recent years especially I have pulled it back and remember it is all meaningless.

My family have given up on me during the season and carry on without me like I’m a 6 months on / 6 months off FIFO worker, except my 6 months on is spent on the couch watching NRL and anything related to NRL.
