Anyone keen to throw a team up they would make if creating it today ? From scratch. Asking for a friend.

Not a lot of thought in this but something like

Ward (either Iversen or a 4.5 GK)
TAA Cancelo James 4.5-5.0 DEF (Neco Williams)
    Salah 8.0MID Martinelli Neto/Bailey (Andreas)
    Haaland Jesus (4.5 FWD)

Is a very generic starting point

Is that much different to pre game week 1 ?

Totally out of the loop here. Any advantage in different picks in Ur opinion by starting now? Or 1 week really not enough to say either way is it

I'm a total noob at this, but I would go.

    Sanchez (Ward)
TAA, Cancello, James, Zinchenko/Walker (N Williams)
    Salah, Martinelli, Neto, Bailey, (Andreas)
    Kane, Haaland (Archer)

0.5 ITB (you could upgrade Sanchez to Mendy if you wanted)

Funny to see the Haaland hype after the weekend, he scores 2 goals and suddenly he is a must have.
I'll aim to bring him in over the next few weeks, but I'm not tearing my team apart at this stage

That's how FPL works. It's this content creation hype machine, always looking at the latest bandwagon.

I find it better to initially look at who you need to get out, rather than all these "essential" players you need to get in. It really narrows and clarifies the range of transfer options IMO.

Kane vs Haaland is just the FPL version of Host vs Lawrie

After 1 week whoever scores the best is deemed "must have" and everyone trades to get him in.

    Not really

I wouldn’t pick Bailey after GW1 given the whole attraction was the BOU fixture which backfired

Starting GW2 probably would target Man City more and also possibly pick some players who performed GW1 that had tough fixture that highly picked (Brighton, Mitrovic, JWP - probably kneejerks though Laughing )

Have to note price rises and falls have already started (Haaland 11.6 now)

Pretty happy with my team despite only a few returns

I thought Chilwell was no chance of starting so went without but he looks like he will pick up where he left off

Got serious FOMO on Sterling after reproducing the numbers he had at Liverpool and City. No doubt he goes over 200 points this year and gets the Son price rise

Nunez also looks like a potential template breaker but not that far from Jesus>Nunez

Unless forced to by injury I would never really make a transfer after GW1 but I am finding myself kind of tempted for a Mount to Foden move... Was surprised Mount only played 65mins and I think Foden will get the most minutes of the City midfield options aside from KDB. Didn't get him initially because he missed pretty much all pre-season, so for him to start that game was a pretty good sign. They should go large against Bournemouth.

Nunez definitely on the watchlist, will probably want to transition to a 4-3-3 in order to get him which will take 2 if not 3 transfer's, unless Jesus shits the bed.

I'll probably start last and remain last haha.

    Thanks for the pointers

For the group, what are the best resource sites to look through when it comes to making your weekly decisions?

Fantasy Football Scout is a good site. There is a paid members area (which I have NEVER joined), but there's lots of stuff that can be accessed for free.

I don't use it much, but I find it useful for looking up predicted team line-ups/formations, and the positions in which individual players are playing in those formations.

I’m pretty torn between KDB and Haaland. Will probably go Haaland for safety as KDB is enough of a differential
