Kent was certainly living up to his name last night, particularly with Brandy. The series was live with under 5 minutes to go and Kent is carrying on about how NSW got it horribly wrong at coaching and selection level. Granted, Wighton probably should have been there but to call it a wholesale failure is a bit of OTT carry on.
I’ve never been an Elias fan but he handled himself with lots more grace than Kent last night.
All these pundits are just hindsight merchants, decide a narrative based on a final scoreline rather than what actually happened.
Cleary's chip goes half a metre over Hunt's head and then NSW have out-QLDed QLD by playing an entire half off their own line under fatigue while individual brilliance from Cleary decides it. Freddie is amazing for course correcting after the 1st game and sticking true to the guys who won game 2.
Instead it's all wrong.
Answer is of course somewhere in between. I think Wighton should've played, with Crichton 18th man, and Talakai wasn't ready with a specialist forward a better 4th bench option.
