News Corp understands Storm officials have also held talks with the Tigers over whether they would consider lending Melbourne any outside back for the remainder of the season – Storm coach Craig Bellamy and Tigers head of football Tim Sheens have a relationship dating back more than 30 years to their time together in Canberra.

Winger Ken Maumalo is believed to be of interest to the Storm, although their priority remains the electrifying Walsh, with discussions around Campbell proving fruitless at this stage.

Maumalo is clearly not surplus for Tigers, struggling to see how a loan of that nature would let just discredit the comp and make Tigers look like a feeder club

Its better than letting Storm get Reece Walsh for a few weeks to help try and win a comp

In NSW Cup this afternoon, the Raiders had a player called Steven Numambo - in jersey number 5. At one point, I saw him take one step left and one step right, one to the front and one to the side. He clapped his hand once and clapped his hands twice. It looked like he was doing it right.

Kept Barnett instead and traded Manu. So, saved a trade, gained 23 points but lost Manu. Not sure if that was smart lol.

Have to play a benched Walsh because I'm out of trades and my depth is crap.

The annual late season disaster run of mine begins.

Not watching but hopefully Ricky doesn’t go to the AOB school of leaving your prop’s second stint to the last 10 mins for Tapine and Elliot

Maybe I'm just a little old-school, but as far as I can tell teams select and sign contracts for their top 25 - 30 (depending on the cap rules).
If your team management has resulted in you being low on backs, or forwards, or spine for that matter - that's on the management of the team and head coach.
The Knights have been without 1 or 2 of their spine players all season - they don't get to just loan a player from another team because it suits them.
TPJ to the Panthers last year was a BS move. The Storm trying to pick up Walsh is even more so a dog-act. As is the Roosters picking up Lodge.
IMO if you pick up a player mid-season (or for the final 6 rounds) you should have to pay them for at least the next year on contract.
Same goes the other way - if a player (like Lodge) wants to play for the Roosters, he should have to sign a minimum length contract (1-2 years). This will stop the merry-go-round of player managers getting their players into contenders for a short (cheap) contract before going on to a different team for their big payday.
