What a day ! Went fishing with a mate, boat capsized both near drowned ( both old farts ) lost heaps of gear but at least we are both home at last thawing out, sorry for expressing here but it puts Fantasy Footy in perspective I guess. ( Looks like his dog didnt make it poor thing ) just got home half hour ago.

Fuck mate, that is full on. Glad you made it. Sad about the dog though. Near death experiences are no joke and it may take time for everything to sink in. Stay safe and look after yourself.

Glad you're okay mate. Instincts and adrenaline took over in the moment and would be hitting pretty hard now. My old man and I used to take the tinny or canoe out river or dam fishing and doesn't take much to turn them over, even flat calm in daylight.. luckily dad was experienced and we avoided a couple of nearfalls. Spend hours chilling without a care and then I'd get complacent and fuck up the weight balance and see how fast everything could go wrong.

Hopefully a beer or two with your mate will be therapeutic. Sucks he lost his dog, makes a bit harder to look back on as time goes on.

Shit mate that’s very full on glad you’re ok and your mate no good at all re his dog though that sucks. All sounds very scary. Take it easy for a couple of days.

It does put things into perspective mate life is too short and can be very cruel. Why we should be kind to each other as much as possible.

I have my Dad cousin funeral tomorrow arvo gonna be a sad day. Got to stay strong for my Great Aunty she’s really struggling. I have the rest of the week off work actually gonna see my Nanna too, soon they’ll be looking at palliative care options for her sadly. So yeah will be some good family time spent this week.

With young guys like Turuva, Luke at your disposal, Ivan would be mad not to rest some.

Happy you survived that AR! Would be terrible to miss out on a top ten finish by drowning two weeks from the end of the season and not having your AEs set up right.

Glad you're ok @Aardvark_Ratnick, sounds very hairy...it's amazing how you manage to get through situations like that on autopilot and only think about the potential consequences once you're safe.

Thanks to everyone sending support, its so true how quick things change, quicker than that boat turning over and makes you realise what is important in life, thanks again all.

    ^also glad you're ok mate, that's hectic

So anyone got trades left? I thought this is the first season in the 4 I've played I've got this far with 1 left. But apparently I traded in Papy in R25 last year. Not having Turbo, it didn't do me much good

I've actually gone better in the 2 years were I burned them quickly.

fuck, hectic. glad you made it out. sad for the dog, i hope your mate is ok - he should consider talking to someone about it if he's doing it tough, dogs are family.

The idea of a dog dying like that breaks me. Love my dog, and almost every other dog. They are the best.

Glad you’re safe and your desire for future fishing isn’t dented
