Inside NRL HQ: What's that, no more NRL season games left?, likely to play for the Kiwis in the world cup, yeah, I think it's time Jared sat out 4 games
LOL is that's what's happening?
He should serve banned games for the Roosters.
Anyone with half a brain could see that the lack of consideration of priors and escalation in penalties in the new judiciary model was going to lead to lunatics like JWH running amuck. I mean, JWH has kinda got away with it his whole career even before this more lenient system was introduced. I honestly think he should've been given a 6-12 week breather sometime in the last decade.
But naturally NRL waits until after R25 to crack down on it after a 10+ year career and overreacts.
I do pretty much agree with what the Souths coach was saying post-game though. Someone like Tom Burgess was clumsy but at least he's attempting to make a tackle when he goes high, which is something footy related. The shit JWH, NAS etc. try every week, with head slams, forearms, facials etc. shouldn't be part of the game. It's adding to an already high risk level for brain injuries unnecessarily.
The problem is it needed someone to figure this out as part of a broader strategy, rather than letting him get away with it all season then flipping a switch for finals in a reactionary manner.
But rugby league gonna rugby league.
