I know everyone else hates him for being lazy, but I find my players playing like shit but still having a 45 base is way better than the rest of my players playing like shit and also scoring shit.

Got a feeling DFifi is in for a big year. I mean, look at last year- he got to an average of 52 with rotating halves and interruptions... and being just lazy at times
I can only see positive for him this year.

Liam Martin injured. So its possible they'll both be named round 1, and 1 will be dropped round 2.

Garner seemed to be favourite at one point, whether he still is or not is to be seen.

If that happens then it'd probably be sensible to delay any decisions until Round 3/4 after the Penrith bye.

After Twal was benched for the second trial for Pole I don’t think he’s too favoured good to see him offloading though shame there’s so many new forwards he won’t ever be that 70min tackle bot again. Hard to tell with the tigers forwards. First time in a while they have heaps of big minute forwards all at the same time. Could be different week to week depending on how Sheens feels. I still feel Klemmer Will get the bulk of the minutes

Do you really see a role for Twal?

I think Haas is still the man. He played the entire first half in both trials which you can only assume is preparation for playing the entire half during the season. He didn't com on in the second half either week but you'd assume at least another 20 minutes to round out the game. Maybe 25 depending on scoreline

Carrigan played about 30 in the first half, and started the second half when Haas was off the field. Don't think there's any evidence that he plays such big second half minutes if Haas comes back on, but might in close games.

I have them both at the moment but rating Haas significantly ahead of Carrigan.

Nothing to say they both won't be playing 65? Ideally Rick needs the bigger minutes to maintain the higher scoring. He won't lose value, but I might turn towards Cotter

Without having watched the Sharks trial, is it a problem that Wilton scored 37 in 54 minutes (nice) but with two tries (hmmm)?

Yeah, they're better when they're both on the pitch, but obviously there are limits. Taupau looked pretty good too. Not as a fantasy buy because he hasn't got the stamina now, but in real life they won't lose too much when he's on. Flegler back at some point too, not sure when.

How could it be mate? His starting edge average is massive! Plenty of BIG scores with no tries! We know how fantasy works

Wiltons obvious issue is JS with Graham still lurking, otherwise he would be in a load more teams

    Cleary (62) Johns (51)

    Weekes (63) Marzhew (55) Hosking (55) Burns (53)

    Warbick (52) Kenny (47) BMM (45) Moale (40)

Score of 1118 in the 17 with NAS (c).
How many minutes did everyone play? PPM seems more important in a trial than the score alone. Thanks anyway.

Murray (58) Moses (55) Doueihi (50) and a few others miss out due to cap issues.

Lock that in for round 1.

In all seriousness, it does show the folly of reading too much into the trials. Very few legitimately fantasy relevant/value guys in here.

Looks like you've only registered for VSDT.

Would love to see Sharks run a three forward bench with someone like Tracey at 14. Stops the possibility of Wilton getting shifted to centre with backline injuries too.

Not going to happen though. Four forwards and take a guess at rotations.

What are you thinking at hooker mate are you looking at someone like Mahoney or going up to a Grant? Or do you think starting Cheese at hooker is fine? I’m expecting Cheese to just play that 57-60mins intially.

I’m also considering Nicholls avg is 37 when playing 40mins and he could get closer to 45mins at the Dolphins he will do lots of tackling. He scored 44 in 41mins yesterday.

Ryan Sutton I’m also considering now TPJ is out til round 4/5 career ppm of 0.85 and you’d think he should get 50mins but he’s an extra 70k than Nicholls and an extra 100k than Uto.

Kudos for the top notch sarcasm.

But on that note, how hard would it be for the NRL to do Rd 1 team lists a bit earlier e.g. on the Friday this week?

Obviously during the season, it needs to be on the Tues - but with the clubs already having their last hit out last weekend...there is no reason the team lists can't be named early I would have thought.

I'm clearly coming from a fantasy bias/perspective but that aside, surely naming teams the weekend before gives a bit more time for hype/promotion.

Nah you know that’s not my style mate you know me by now! I like getting into the nitty gritty and breaking it right down.

Have not seen the Broncos V Cows trial yet just watching now.

Will watch Penrith v St Helens later this week.
