Did they think building a squad was too difficult this year or something?

Depends on the format buddy. My draft plays all byes and has a reserve squad depth of 12 players. I missed it of course lol! and had almost no playable backs. If he does get the start then on my draft he’d be a great pick up. Not sure if it’s relevant to anyone else but thought I’d share the info just in case.

When you say "the cheapest MID to average 60" it implies there will be a bit of choice there, and finding the cheapest option is what you are after

Last year, only 7 players averaged 60. (Hynes, Cleary, Cook, Murray, Munster, iPapalii, Grant) Only 2 of them MIDs (and one of them isn't a MID this season.
There might be a few who average 60 discounting injury, or over a small sample size. But anyone who averages 60, is going to be one of the cheapest ones to do it, no matter their price.

Schuster will miss round 1 with a calf injury but should be right for week 3 after their bye, if anyone cares.

Would the name (Tapine DeBelin in McLean Haas) be too much?

Hah! Who said Kiwis aren't funny?

Well, most people who've met one, obviously.

But well done on demonstrating why 'most' is so important! Nicely done.

I wanted to see what a team with Cleary & Hynes would look like so I managed to get a decent team with 123k itb. I'll put it in assistant coach if anyone is interested

Schuster out of round 1. Hopeful for round 3. Calf strain.

Sort of related, is anyone considering DCE as a cheaper alternative to the two obvious gun halves?

Can't see any reasons for his scoring to drop off..should do everything, as usual, if not more with Foz gone again. I don't mind the bye in round 2 - as long as you don't have a complete disaster in round 1, you should be able to cover it fairly easily. Its the players with byes in round 4, 5, 6, 7 etc that i'd be more worried about.. when the failed cows start to mount up, injuries and suspensions etc

A more balanced 21 seems more important than ever this year (disclaimer have not looked at byes, still have not looked at making a squad)

EDIT i did forget he is not the GK.

How far can you push GnCs? SFA ITB

    Cheese Boyd
    Tapine Cotter Uto Stone
    Fifita Katoa Hopgood Doorey
    Hynes Cleary TMM
    Alamoti HSS
Teddy McLean Perham Warbrick AKP Sloan

I mean, it's a vulnerable lineup. By R4 you could be looking at more red dots than even Mulvy's got on his shaft. But lots of the guns.

that's essentially the structure of my current team.

    Swap out
Tapine, Cotter, Uto, Stone, Cleary, Teddy and Sloane
    For
Murray, carrigan, Collins, Nichols, Moale, Doueihi and Turbo

I don't know what GnCs SFA ITB is, but it sounds bad, and I probably should have used some protection Embarassed
