Nothing motivates running a hard line like a looming 40% paycut (particularly when threatened with a move to Canberra)

Is this why you are based in Canberra? You couldn't maintain a good enough try scoring rate?

Thoughts on these predicted Round 1 team lists? Used the info on here + the popular news sites and podcasts to come up with this. I'm sure i've missed a couple of obvious ones - lmk and I'll update them 🙂

dark red = injured/missing long term
light red = injured/missing short term
yellow = they've got the role short term or could be replaced soon by a returning player

For the Tigers I would make Charlie Staines yellow or Junior Tupou
I'm pretty sure they'll have a utility on the bench too (probably Simpkin)

From what I can tell Jack Bostock is a real chance at starting for the Dolphins

But its as good as anyone can predict at this point. The places where you're wrong probably aren't the places where people think you'll be wrong

Also you're missing Adam Elliot completely from the Knights

He'll probably start lock if fit, but has been battling injury

Sydney RL Journos continue to have more drunken incidents than the RL players they police on morals and behaviours…

    From smh.com.au

    Bring back the biff

The NRL season hasn’t even kicked off yet, and the biff is well and truly back. But this time, it was the journalists, not the players, making fools of themselves.

Like so many good beefs, it began on Twitter. For months, Roar.com league reporter Mike Meehall Wood had been rather candid in his opinions on similarly outspoken NRL360 host Paul Kent.

Some samples include tweets lambasting Kent’s “gutter, clientelist journalism,” and, in what we hear was the final straw, another accusing him of “dog whistle bullshit” when talking about Pasifika players such as Jarome Luai.

It was all a bit of harmless Twitter sledging, until someone made the mistake of putting the two in the same room at the Kayo season launch at King St Wharf on Wednesday.

Cue a very conspicuous screaming match, which some witnesses told CBD culminated in Kent, one of the angriest men in sports media, shirtfronting Wood and dragging him outside.

Wood did not return CBD’s calls, while Kent was in no mood to chat on Wednesday afternoon.

“I don’t wanna talk about it ... just look at what he says.

Thanks! Updated Elliott and made Tupou & Bostock yellow.
Should have clarified I'm just trying to get everything in the one place rather than try to nail actual team selections.
Will add sheets for player minutes, left/right side, who the goal kickers are etc and share a locked version of the google sheet soon Smile

I honestly don’t see how a 7 or 7000 in a trial would matter with Fifita. Already know what he is and what’s going to happen. 55ppg (+/- 5) that will still manage to infuriate owners.

Agree with you but it did look like his workrate was a little higher. Seemed to be defending mid a bit more than last year. Might have just been me looking for excuses to include him in my team though.

I think thats why they grabbed Foran hoping he is the key to unlock him, but we can wait and see.

I'm pretty sure Holbrook had said Fifita well be playing outside Boyd, which would suggest unlocking Fifi is not the reason why they signed Foran.
I would suggest they signed Foran due to a lack of experience in their spine. They might even hope that Fifita finds a way to unlock himself

    From Mark Gottlieb

"Isaiya Katoa spent entire opposed session at five-eighth on right side of the field with the main squad. Anthony Milford ran with the reserves before leaving midway through session for ‘conditioning’."

Not sure if this was a light hearted comment or not but basically with Angus I've just left him there as missing a few weeks with the uncertainty around him. Colours were more of a general guideline too haha.

i hope katoa starts rd 1 he probably won't just because in sc i have to replace schuster & that position is crap & i'll have to go higher to get a decent replacement if katoa doesn't play....same for my vsdt

Sounds about right for Holbrook, not sure I would have Campbell near the 17 either.
