Yeah for me it's between Drinky and Latrell as gun WFB options

Drinkwater has great byes, but I just don't see the value. Is it worth paying that money for sub 50 scores and no money made?

If he can elevate his game, then I it would definitely be worth a shot.

Him or Horsburgh or CHN I'd imagine

Or Tapine plays lock but with 10 on his back

Or Mooney if you want to be optimistic about random base price players getting large minute roles

Word is Whitehead lock, CHN 2RF. Not sure how true. CHN would be another great mid-priced edge option if there was any faith that he'd keep the spot rather than play 80 minutes then 54 minutes then bench in Ricky roulette.

Broke his jaw quite badly in the second trial so 6-8 weeks from then.

WEll that's the thing, if you're getting Drinky you're holding until after R13. You're paying for his lack of byes all the way through origin. So I suppose he provides points value instead of $$. Without Pappy in the mix and with the uncertainty surrounding Turbo, I reckon Drinky's a top 4 WFB currently.

Whoever it is, would you trust it to last past week 2

In the past week 2 of Canberra's experienced players have said they don't want to play where the coach had picked them. (Probably reading way more into things than was intended here though)
I mean, its probably better than whinging about selections via their WAGS, but is everything really happy down in Canberra

if it wasn't for the round 2 bye, I'd probably start with Turbo.

As it is, the fact you only get 1 game before he's out, combined with the uncertainty about his fitness, I just don't think I can risk it.

Prepared to spend some trades getting him in for R3/4 if I'm wrong

For people going premium WFB, I think Latrell offers some value over Teddy. Since coming back from the states for his injury rehab he's comfortably averaged over 50, with some big scores in there and only a handful of shockers.

Teddy has a slightly better draw, except for the fact that he has a bye in round 4. If you had Cheese and also one of the Butcher brothers, that would be a big drop to your score.
Latrell player every game up until origin 1. Once origin hits Latrell is more of a tradeout then Teddy
After R4 both Teddy's byes fall on origin weeks. Last year he backed up every time, but that may not be the case this year.

I have to be honest, I haven't really looked at him, just the track record (real or perceived) makes him a no go for me. I had no idea they were both 777k.

Pretty much this. They basically said they didnt want to sign a hooker so they didnt block Mozer path to nrl. Theyre all in on him. Its a tricky spot though, he needs to play some Q Cup first.

Not sure about other fb options. Cobbo ok for a stand in but i dont think hes up to it full time at the moment. I think he ends up at left centre next year.

Bit of Broncos fan hopium here but Walsh is in for a big season imo

I have Turbo currently. May change though.

Whew. Just caught up with everything. So many options which no doubt will be blown apart by TLT. Starting to lean towards starting with Cook and no Cleary/Hynes. But that feels very very weird. The lack of a bye round for ages is a massive consideration. Its not just the fact you lose Cleary/Hynes as capt but whoever comes in for them is also not going to be score as well

Yep and if he gets injured you only waste one trade trading him out whereas if you don’t start him and he goes well you bring him in then he gets injured you then waste two trades.
