Slightly OT, but why does it matter if a player is named in the starting 13/17/21?

Players have continually been named on the bench then they start, and vice versa - Players from outside the 17 have made the 24 hour cut, then make the 17 final hour before

    Capt DCE or Hopgoat?

edit: going to 'punt' on Hopgoat, Eels will be desperate for a win.

my tv broke wrote:Finding myself trying to shuffle around cheap options again, with CNK out and considering Teddy bye next week, and Boyd bye the week after (is he even worth keeping). Can just play Trindall this week but its probably his last week.

Considering Miller because slapsies but man the Knights might struggle.. even considering I Katoa in for TMM to free up some cash.

Dont' really want to trade E Butcher (or Garner) at this stage. I think they can both be solid scorers, but may have to by next week to fix half.

Miller scores all.his points coming out of his own end. Barely touches the ball in attack close to the line.

Pencil him.in for a banner in that case

    Keep Egan one more week.

Mahoney is playing with weakish halves so is doing more ball-playing.

I guess it comes down to your own risk aversion, I am unlikely to select a guy named at 18-21.

I hear a RUMOUR Bateman will start on the pine and play some minutes.

    we can do an experiment

I'll make my selections based on players named in the starting 13. You make your selections based on anyone named in the 21.

Occasionally, the guys named in the 21 might come in and do well, but tis certainly not what you want to base your assumptions on.

60% he gets 35mins+ off the pine.

One of the many podcasts I fall asleep to, mentioned a rumour out of the Tigers camp Bateman was ready to go and might make the pine.

Team looks kinda average this week but have $324k bank to make moves next week. Trade outs will be dependent on who pulls their finger out. Those in orange are on the chopping block

    Hodgson
    Murray Haas Hopgood (c)
    Butcher Carty
    Moses (vc) Trindall
    HSS Alamoti
    Teddy ITT Warbrick

    Harris EKatoa Loiero CNK (loop)
    IKatoa Preston Boyd Doorey

Done I’ll keep Young T based on this and worry about centres next week

Mahoney owner - happy with him so far, uncharacteristic errors this week hurting his score, should have gone 60+ again. I expect him to at least match, if not better Robson for scoring, also plays 2 Origin byes.

This is a fair point, hadn't considered that.

nice bank, will give you good options R4 mate.

I am not down on butcher, looking at his history the last two rounds appear out of character, and the Chooks are just starting to wind up.

Trindall appears almost a cert to be dropped next week unless Moylan pulls a hammy, as Hynes has taken his pool stick off the rack and declared he is ready.

Boyd is a hold for me while he plays 80, he has decent past stats, is still jelling with team, Foran disruptions etc.

Playing Thompson or Sloan is a fun decision that’s bound to result in single digits

Though my team I feel is looking sexy (trades Boyd + CNK to Preston + Bird)

    Robson
    Haas Murray Hopgood
    Katoa Loiero
    Doueihi Trindall
    Bird Alamoti
    Miller Warbrick Thompson

Robson plays 2 origin rounds as well (and has arguably better byes because Dogs have a post Origin bye which could be dicey)

Why number the players I guess is what I'm also trying to say, just list alphabetically/however because the order they are listed, 95% of the time isn't the order the take the field

Bird is the smart play - I went for the rocket 'science' of Walsh, your team looks good.

I considered Bird+Walsh but went DCE+Walsh and kept Cleary as well.

    Bird+Hammer next week Smile

Yeah I have lots on my watchlist around that 600k - low 700k mark that I think can elevate to keepers. So I could maybe go Butcher/Boyd to 2 straight upgrades depending on how they perform

Looking at ARey, Mahoney, Welch, Koro, Bird, SJ, Walsh

Others like Brailey and Tatola will also be very attractive in coming weeks as their prices come down

Just watching Butcher if he passes the eye test, he's not a huge concern, but his cash can be used better elsewhere if he's just plodding. Trindall yeah has an expiry date, but should hold a low BE if he maybe gets a bench spot. And yeah Boyd is same reasoning with Butcher, plus his DPP is handy

Why even name 21 players on Tuesday at all - why not let teams pick from all their contracted players on game day. That's what they do in other sports.

Fantasy players would sure whinge if we didn't get a meaningful TLT but coaches would probably be happy.

My head says to do something like Brailey>Mahoney/Grant + BSmith>Preston, but I might need to make higher risk plays with how bad my rank is now (spoiler: it's 52k). Any thoughts that I missed would be appreciated.

    Brailey
    Tofu Haas HopGod
    EButch Katoa
    Trindall Hastings
    Alamoti HSS
    Mitchell Miller Warbrick

    Carty BSmith Doorey Cleary
    Katoa Boyd Ford Talau

Wouldve been nice to target guys like DCE, Walsh and Bird.

Other option is keep BSmith and trade Talau if you can afford that? I don't think he's much use to anyone even as an AE. Gives you an extra green dot this week.
