I am 100% bringing in Walsh for the excitement factor...he should score OK in fantasy, but damn he is silky to watch, and he is only a kid, think of the upside.

Cheap entry to events? Being socially acceptable to eat chicken nuggets at a restaurant? Not paying off a mortgage? I can get on board with this

I think he's still likely to average higher than anyone else this year. Don't particularly want to be Clearyless in the nine-game, byeless run-up to Origin, but can manage without him for a week or two?*

Yeah after the carnage others suffered this round, I am thinking only trade out injured players.

R1 I traded out Munster to Grant, and saved a trade.

Theoretically, with no current injuries I could hold trades this round, which is an amazingly lucky break given the carnage so far.

With all the injuries, trades could become really crucial (yeah like usual).

tldr - not trading out Cleary.

I really want Walsh, but I can wait one more round and go EButch to him next round pre bye.

The biggest reason for me to trade him, is I thought he was a keeper level player and I would hold right through.

He is tying up 550K and playing at 44. I needed him to average 48-52.

I think he will once Chooks sort their shit out, but in the meantime he has a bye next round, and I have holes at CTR and FB he could easily shift to Walsh or Hammer.

    I also want to offload Tanner B, so seriously thinking;

    EButch-Walsh
    Tannah B-Hammer

Butchers my only real trade option if i want to get a solid wfb. Tough spot assuming CNK is probably out (and low floor)

Chooks should have JWH and Radley back this week, at very least, they a team that can click into gear pretty quickly. Bye might also help them. BS9 a bit of a concern for them depending on this injury. They are going nowhere with Turpin as a regular feature

I also have Boyd, but that leaves me short a half as soon as Hynes is back. I should probably prioritize getting a hlf in and hope walsh idles at 35s for a few weeks.

EButcher definitely has the potential to become a keeper, it's just that we have so many cows on the edge this season, so I can see why you would opt to run a cheaper pairing and use the cash elsewhere, I might do the same next week

Why wouldn't you trade out Cleary? He'll end up losing $200k the way he's going.

Not a chance, without the feeding from Api his involvement has really decreased.

My other option was to trade out Murray+EButch and bring in DCE+Walsh and still have Cleary/DCE at halves right through to origin and bring in Hynes if he doesn't get the origin gig.

    Would mean R4 set up like this;

    Grant
    HopGod-Haas-Carrigan
    EKatoa-(choice of Preston/Loiero/Cartwright)
    Cleary-DCE
    HSS-Alamoti
    TeddyWarbrick-Walsh-Miller

Roosters also have Brown coming into the team.

Yeah I've pivotted to Grant, I've got Hopgood as a solid captaincy option and my hookers are a trainwreck (Cheese/Boyd)
Grant is playing Titans & Tigers next so has potential to ton up

Cleary scored alright with Kenny at HK in the past, don't think he's a big factor.

Just a lack of attacking stats these first two games and had a few missed opportunities in Rd 1.

I wouldn't count on him dropping too much cash despite the 90 BE.

actually thinking about it, Cleary could well be cheaper to bring back in two rounds, and we could use the cash now, its just burning the two trades, but if you are going to burn two trades anyway...why not?

    Definitely food for thought.

Depleted Knights could offer Dolphins another win to be 3-0, who would have thought!

Is there much point in trading cleary back in before Origin? Especially with Hynes due to come back who will play through that time.

Also Grant is owned by over 50% of the top teams, he is one of the reasons why they are ranked so high

Yeah I wouldn't be. Origin bye planning is going to be really tough this season, if you trade him out now, you will use 3 trades total if you want to bring him back in and out again at Origin, then a 4th after Origin!

For me the only situation I'd trade Cleary out right now is for Hynes if he was to return this week (due to half issues but also think Hynes and Cleary will be very close all year and I'll want one of them at all times)

There would be about 8 rounds before Origin, and I am more of a H2H player than overall, so it would work for me, not saying I do it...

    I am greedy I want both + Munster/DCE.

I started with Munster+Cleary and had the intention of bringing in Hynes as well to set up my season.

Then Hynes gets injured, and Munster gets injured...

So planning too far ahead, while giving you options, can seldom map out...
