I am gonna go full MattNZ and trade out HopGood next week for a hunch I have on the next gun CTR.

I will come up with some dubious stats to justify this wild proposition in the coming hours....

    Stay tuned Question

Whats the Matterson? Aren't you down with my plan?

I'd definitely like that too. Bench mid playing around 50 mins could be alright if it stays that way. Gives me SST at WFB vibes from his rookie season.
Pretty sure he is playing EDG, with K Brom moving to MID

Surely he doesnt make the bench at full strength. Will be bad timing with Carty, Trindall also dropping out as options around the same time and any remaining Roosters on the bye.

The full-strength pack minus Havili (who's not back for ages) is as follows.

    8. Tatola
    9. Cook
    10. T Burgess
    11. Koloamatangi
    12. Arrow
    13. Murray
    14. Taaffe
    15. Sele
    16. Shaq Mit/Moale/DSF
    17. Host/Chee-Kam

I think there's a spot for at least one of Shaq and Moale on the bench until Havili gets back, and on form Shaq would be the one to get it.

Yep was on the left edge vs. Roosters for his try. Might be hard to usurp Kaufusi and KBrom for a starting EDG spot until injuries strike I guess.

I was thinking they line up more like R1. Host/MCK starting, Arrow bench MID, with the other of Host/MCK bench.

Strongly considered it, but with the bye next week it's just too much money that I could use elsewhere.

Also his service from Keary has been fine. Both errors I've seen Butcher make hitting the line have been his own handling errors, nothing Keary could do more except go out the back earlier in the game to give defenders something to think about. So far in both games the first few raids down the left have been Butcher getting the ball. Might be the opposite of what I suggested: Have Butcher take the first few balls to keep the centre/half honest, only to go out the back to Suaalii later in the game with more space.

In any case, I don't doubt he'll make money this year, just based on the start and the upcoming bye it's too slow for my liking at this stage of the season.

Likely 5 less points a week, but saves $125k and likely better price increases through to round 13 when you trade to Hynes.

The real upside is that it would allow me to do Boyd to Bird next week in a single trade, with the extra $125k, which is a nice keeper upgrade, (I miss Walsh to do this). He is my only CTR target, not interested in the messy midrangers that can score just as badly as the guys you are replacing them with.

Bird started doing slapsies across the field last week and I instantly regretted not having him.

Fortunately Trindall and Carty are going to be entering the price point where they can be directly traded to players that can match them for scoring in the next couple of weeks. Makes replacing their output in the 17 much easier.
Do you really think SJ can get to Rd 13 without being injured? If he does, won’t he play Rd 13? Hynes must be considered a potential SOO player surely. That’s a crazy 10 week plan.

Is anyone bold enough to look at SJ?

I don't really trust it, but it looks like he's going to absolutely dominate the KMs next to TMM, who has a grand total of 13 kick metres recorded over the first 2 games. Egan and CNK have 0 between them. Dylan Walker is the only other Warrior to register any KMs with 11.

Yes, plays R. 13 then trade to Hynes who plays the next 2 origin byes.

Who does Hynes play ahead of? They have the Cleary / Luai halves pairing that has got the Panthers to 3 grand finals in a row, he isn't moving Teddy from fullback, the other CTRs are also transplanted players from other positions in Mitchell and Wighton. There just isn't a place for him, when they are also carrying a HOK on the bench.

Better to have a crazy plan than no plan!

Speaking of which, how many season keepers that don't play origin do people have in their teams after trades this week?

I have 6 (includes Hopgood), with a plan to get Bird next week, and only 2 Origin players to trade out by round 13.

One more week then it'll be clear who's the better buy between him and ARey imo

More comfortable with an iffy back 5 member  Very Happy

Plan has always been to let the cheap centres make a few $$ and then upgrade and it's progressing so I'll let it stew

    Sounds a good plan.

I locked in the best two cheap CTR options I felt there were available in Alamoti and HSS, I will only burn a trade there if an injury occurs or my mid-range cashies mature and I can get in Bird/Holmes et al.

I think given the cash diff of 100K and both being 48-53 types, SJ edges it out for me.
