Might bank me 70-80k in 2 weeks if he scores well. And hopefully some decent points.
If things change he could also be a long term option scoring as he has been.
    he’s looking like a keeper

Teeth Eater wrote:As part of the lost files, I did actually pen a full summary last night but in a wild moment just ended up scrapping the whole post. Wasn't into the tone of it. Whilst being sympathetic to Teddy and his concussion, I had assessed that in terms of points scored / value lost / games played, he probably now ranks as the worst purchase in Fantasy I have ever made. Would never imagine I'd be saying that about Teddy.

I was also trying to wrap my head around it too. People say you don't lose anything if you don't sell, which I kind of understand. If I hold him all season (which I 100% intend to do), I'm technically not losing the 200K that he will lose by the time everyone else picks him up. But also, if someone (let's call them Craig) buys the player I have, that has lost 200K, for 200K less than I bought said player, that theoretically means that Craig now has 200K worth of value somewhere else in his team that I don't have, does it not? So whilst I have not sold Teddy for 200K less than I bought him, theoretically, by comparison, I am technically 200K worst off than Craig, am I not? Assuming that elsewhere, Craig has made similar/identical choices to me. For example, if Craig had started with Harry Grant when I started with Teddy.

Actually, rather than add tonight's summary onto this, I might leave this as a single post. There are countless more smarter minds than me on this forum, so curious to know if my thinking is correct, or if I just can't really wrap my head around this scenario properly.
Firstly who is Craig? And secondly is Craig the guy who's been rotating his centres (HSS, ITT, and Alamoti) and got it wrong every week?

Definitely hasn't been getting it wrong every week. Craig makes very few mistakes. He played ITT and Almoti this week, for what it's worth. Get on board, if it's not too late. Suspect

ForanAgainst wrote:I’m sure many of my reasons for starting with Teddy are the same as some of yours. Would this be the year he didn’t get off to his usual slow start? Question answered. I think about the other options I was considering(Warbrick and Miller were locked into my team). Could Drinky maintain went he did at the end of last year. For the longest time, I did have him in my team, glad I didn’t go in this direction. Turbo. Round 2 bye put me off. Walsh, not available round 1. Savage. Injured preseason. HTF. Historically mediocre at fullback. Did not see how he started playing out as it has. Sloan was never in consideration. I’m sure I had fleeting thoughts about starting with Trell, as well as Perham. Those were all the players I had, at one point, in my team, but ultimately, the deciding factor for me to start with Teddy was that the signing of Cheese was going to make the Roosters go up another level. Silly me for thinking he was going to be a 60 minute player who would do what he did at the Storm and whatnot. I haven’t been able to watch a lot of game this year, and I feel I’m just rambling now, it’s difficult to pinpoint the exact reason Ted has been his usual slow self, and I didn’t see the game Thursday, but it seems they were starting to click? Idk.

Far out. I just remembered Ponga was another one I thought of for a minute, then I recalled his concussion history and was like nope.

Thanks for reading this rambling post and enjoy the games today.

Yeah, I had Hynes and Cleary so all my WFB were just cheapies, most of whom have all done pretty decent. When Hynes exploded my first instinct was Grant, but I landed on Teddy by R1 kick off, I think because of alleged draw and lower price than Grant maybe letting me pick up a few others I wanted to squeeze in my team.

Despite my posts on the subject, I am at peace with the situation. It's irritating indeed, but it is Fantasy and I'm down with what I'll take into next season from it. Like I said, hopefully I pick up a gem at the time everyone else is scooping up Teddy for 230K. Wink

    Chip strategy:
    Crinkle cut
Sour cream and chives or cheese and onion
    Or natural with dips

    Others worth a mention:
    Doritohs Nacho Cheese
    Grain waves

    Mid round snapshot
557/9c on par according to yafss.com
Glad I traded Ceary back in and made him captain,
Hosking the other new recruit, didn't do anything to hurt his chances to help cement his spot in the team.
And who is this Lindsey Smith? Hosking's twin brother? What a player

They're a bit tougher to find this side of the Tasman so will definitely be making some return visits.

I will smash bags of those things at a time.

In fantasy news - might actually be able to watch a bit of the first game today. Lessgo Turbo and Miller and if I were to start a motorbike gang we'd be the Daly Deathriders.

We have a large feijoa tree in the garden but it has been affected by guava moth for the last two years. Once it's back on form, I'll let you know and you can have a bag.

For chips, they'll always be crisps for me. Growing up in the UK, there was more variety of crisp type. Monster Munch, Quavers, Skips, Wotsits, Brannigans, McCoys. I did love a NikNak - like a NZ twisty but in better flavours like Rib 'n' Saucy, Nice 'n' Spicy. For now, I make do with Heartland cheese and onion. That's right - not chives, onion!

You'd assume keppie scores at least 10 more points. Depends if Keppie makes your team stronger for next week

As someone who spent their formative years in the land of the great potato my nostalgia crisp is Tayto - Cheese and Onion. They taste 100% of artificial flavours (like a way more intense Smiths cheese and onion) but also a little bit like when your old man used to drop into the pub for a cheeky pint on the way back from Saturday sport and you would get a soft drink and a bag of Tayto to keep you quiet.
