Same sort of ideas for me. I might wait a week and get Tapine.

If Bird could just cool his jets on an edge for a few weeks, I'd appreciate that.

Not sure what to make of Tapine right now. Traded him out pre round 6 with all intentions of bringing him back next week but then he put up a 36 and upon reflection his minutes have not been where I had hoped at the start of the year (more 55mins than sub 50).

Now I'm wondering if JDB can score close enough to Tapine (within 5pts or so) for $120k less.

Tapine hasn't been on my radar all year. Never been a fan. Maybe you're right re De Belin, just carries a bit of risk - my team is full of it. Could be better than reaching for a guy like MKing or paying out the nose for a centre.

I think I will trade Talau to Bula if Talau does not get named in the starting lineup. Bula is a huge risk but he is better than a less than minimum price Talau clogging up my reserves.

I've gone CTR crazy! already have Lemmy, Bird and Alamoti but tempted by Carty to Manu iuf Carty doesn't start.

TBH I'd love to have a Bird/Manu combo and I've got an inkling Lemu's days as an 80 min edge might be numbered (although not sure a reduction to 60 impacts his scoring).

I think waiting a week on all these decisions might be wise given the paucity of lower/mid range riches on offer this week.

I think there might be some merit to using a trade combo next week to pick up a Raiders forward like Taps or Young (maybe trading the beloved Pat Carrigan in) as well as Manu.

Wouldn't mind having a look at what shakes out at the Tigers as a low cost outside back would be nice to throw in there.

Already banned from Butters group, didn't take long.

He started deleting posts when he realised what he was saying or didn't like so I deleted the main post after realising how he was going to be, even with something innocent he doesn't take long.

So he replied and posted the narrative to the group and blocked me so I can't even reply to it
haha he really is a loose cannon

He also explained that he can't put his own advice into practice because he doesn't have the time
Instead he commits all of his time to fantasy stats and his fantasy website...about this exact thing..And charges people for something that he can't use himself

    Make sense of that

Anyways 8pm game so a heap of time to kill, wish I could get this time back for an innocent question haha
To be honest there isn't even any missing parts from that. zero to 100 in about 10 minutes and a couple of posts

It really puts into context the difference between the facebook fantasy wild west and here doesn't it

Well it's not just the name that appeals, haha. I think players get focused on and it snowballs without looking elsewhere. I've had Ale two weeks, so each week that ticks by reduces the chance it's a bomb anyway.

Holding trades this week mate or tempted by the devil ?

Bit undecided so might just hold fire...if Carty is benched I'll just get Manu (mainly because I like him), beyond that don't see anything that wouldn't be just pushing a trade for the sake of it.

This happens every year around this time...cows need to be milked but there aren't any calves to start bottle feeding yet. I think the thing is not to be scared of dropping a few $$ waiting for something juicy to come along.

    It's a nerve holding exercise.

Ale's been a better short term pick up than most over the past few weeks and you can't beat the name.

As for butters and his approach...

Honestly, things like MTB's site and even Milchy's regular str8 forward be's could be justified in paying a small fee for if u love the game. But subscriptions to apparent fantasy advice and the like re Butters is just for the naive imo. It's not a game where advice is going to be gold or 100% reliable due to the nature of sport. Following a coaches mind and bench rotations, injuries, form and all the rest.. just banter and throw shit at the wind on a forum and make Ur own decisions. It's a game with little to no tangible reward in the end.

Fuck it, I've I made a site called 'Even more butter' or 'Extra butter' and sourced from the forum, combined with some questionable jokes every week, I could charge a fee and probably throw my job out the window!

    @Aardvark - would u be my agent ?

Yeah that's right, the want to trade every week, it makes it feel like Ur involved and tinkering. The thought of running the same squad out as last week seems ludicrous. But I'm looking at no trades this week, only 1 saved so far.

I love playing NRLF but really it's not like we're playing for anything other than bragging rights and a bit of banter.

Paying a subscription to some dude who takes himself so seriously that he won't counter any conflicting advice and refuses to accept that maybe he needs to get slightly better results himself if he is going to charge people is something I can't fathom*.

Like you said, throwing a few $$s at MTB's site (or for Milchy's various aids) is a small price to pay for the interaction on here (plus I can get left field ideas from someone with a cloudy track record for free Rolling Laugh)

Edit : *actually now that I'm thinking about it @Revs maybe we could make it work....we could certainly get the dogmatic approach to any conflicting ideas down pat

Yea Butters site almost feels like a pyramid scheme to trick the foolhardy into giving him money.

There is little to no benefit paying the guy any money, but the naive will fall prey year in year out sadly
