I am waiting for TLT and then can start deep diving tomrrow night and Wednesday and then panic Thursday. No need to panic now wait for TLT Beth and remember every trade you need to treat like pure gold! As I always say one of my fav sayings it’s a marathon not a sprint. In saying that I have 20 trades left and there is a possibility I might use all 3 this week ahahahahaha

Honestly I'm not panicking (yet). At this point if Ford plays, I could potentially not make any trades at all this week - would play Ford and then loop Sloan and Soni for the last spot.

Earlier in this thread someone gave me the idea to hold Sloan and I had a look at how much he might lose in the worst case and it might be worth the punt if it means using my trades elsewhere

e.g. if I wanted to take a risk I could trade Haas (likely to be managed over Origin) and Hammer (risk of making Origin and has peaked) for Hopgood and Robson or something like that, but not set on that by any means.

TLT will be very interesting to say the least, what has me more interested is if Hook still has his job by the end of the week.

Nevertheless, the suggestion was genuine and just a suggestion.
It's nice to have a good bunch of Origin keepers that you want in your final 17, but my concern with that strategy is that by the time R21 rolls round, you'd be so far behind from playing short too often, that your final 17 almost becomes a bit irrelevant.

It's not been fun riding without Hynes, he's a great player, great fantasy scorer, If love to fit him in, but I don't think he's 10 points better than Cleary, and I don't think many teams have enough value to support Hynes + Cleary + Haas + Fifita + Cook. It's a power block of scoring, but somethings gotta give...

Averages are cool, Total points are what wins out

You just go Horse and / or JDB instead of Haas and Boyd instead of Cook.

I'm also biased because I made my 1st XV rugby debut against him in high school when he was the year above me and he absolutely shitmixed a 16 year old Lchy for two tries in the 20 minutes I was on the field. So by trading him in it gives me a chance to tell this story as much as possible and abuse my 15 minutes of fame
I haven't played footy myself, but one of my work mates played here in Newcastle with Tevita and the Mata'utia brothers, he was mates with Randall. He always laughed about Tevita's silly penalties and hot temperament, I guess some things never change.
My former GP was the team doctor for the Knights, I hardly go to the doctor so didn't get much of the inside scoop, luckily we have PYTM for that.
Aside from that I was pencilled in to go on a trip to Rwanda with some of the Eels players a few years back for work as some of my colleagues couldn't make it, but the trip ended up being postponed and I missed out on the opportunity.

More generally, growing up in the Gong would often see footy players on the piss in he early 2000s.

Saw Jason Ryles beat the shit out of some deadshit looking to start something once and bouncers get him a towel to clean up his hands after.

Hassan Saleh tried to fight my mate once.

A girl we knew in uni had a one night stand with a footy player, Nathan. Wasn’t from NSW, didn’t know the Dragons, didn’t know who he was. showed her the back page of yesterdays Illawarra Mercury - yep that’s him, Nathan Brown. And that’s a pic of him with his wife and baby.

Caught some absolute fucking sky high kicks playing against Ryley Jacks back in the day. Got jammed each time I caught them too, kick chase from his team was on point. The boy could fucking kick.

Also my wife went on a date with former rugby league journo Josh Massoud in their uni days. She only realised this when I was watching an episode of Offsiders years back and passing the TV she said he looked familiar.

Apparently the date did not go well but at least he didn’t threaten to rip her head off and shit down her throat.

Surely there's a real chance Sloan gets dropped this week?

I haven't traded before TLTs have dropped once this year, but I put in some tentative trades the moment it unlocked today, just to get Sloan out of my team immediately. The jaws of life could not keep me from trading him out this week, but the good news for you and other owners is that this means he'll score 40+ this weekend. Wink

(not even I believe that, to be honest. He's just wretched)

Anyone else watch 100% Footy, and if so, what is this shit on our screens instead? And is 100% Footy not on this week?

There definitely is a chance that he does get dropped, and if that happens I will definitely sell him, but if he does play I think he might be worth sticking with - would much rather have him in the loop with Soni Luke than a guy like Oloapu who isn't even starting yet.

TLT will decide what I do, but I am looking at oddball options involving selling Haas and Hammer as mentioned before (similar method to what Easytiger recommended but I think Haas is a better sell than Hynes is if that's the route I want to go down)

Yeah, Hammer definitely on my list to. Of the four Dolphins I have, he's the one to move on. Still think he's not a bad one to hold, but especially if Ford could be out, I'll be needing an active player.

I played against the Burgess twins as well as a couple of current Super League players at academy level in the UK, they were the same size then as they are now. Think they put 50 on us that day but I did manage to sneak over for a try

He is fine to hold but I don't really need him as a starting centre (I have Bird and Manu) or starting WFB (I currently have Teddy Miller and Walsh, but would trade Walsh if he makes Origin), so I think I can sell him now.

I had a look at how my team would look if I were to go ahead with trading Haas and Hammer for Hopgood and Robson, and it would actually be pretty good.

If Ford plays and I go ahead with the trades, I would not need to play either Sloan or Soni Luke (I would probably end up looping Sloan and Bula or something like that)

If Ford does not play (would hold Hammer and trade him instead in that instance) then I would be looping Soni and Sloan for the last reserve this week, and have a stronger team for both R12 and R13.

In fact I'm even considering selling both Haas and Cook over Origin, and relying on the 8 trades we get given in R20 to get them back, so that I can get better guys in the meantime - would sell Haas now to Hopgood as mentioned before and then potentially sell Cook to Tohu in R13 since I would already have Robson to play HOK.

Would be somewhat risky but it could work.
