If they weren't playing souths next and didn't have the bye in Rd13 I would legit be semi-interested in Brooks.
You had me all the way until you said Brooks

You guys joke about Brooks but here's a fun fact about him this year:
47 average with Bula in the team
36.5 average without Bula in the team.
Coincidence? I think not!

I couldn't do it to myself, regardless of how shit I am going this year, but brooks does tend to go on runs of good scores.
Mostly at the back end of seasons I think. I got on one year. Only once. Not sure I could bring myself to do it again.
You're still ahead of me, mate!
PS - Really poor form of ET to come into the mods league and sit atop the overall ladder and Cookie #2 ranked mod. Did we not send out specific instructions??
Agreed, very poor form, not quite Honeysett-esque poor form, but close.

I wish we could've saved more of Sportal to look back on. Good history lesson for newcomers.
Would be a read hey

I once got cleaned up trying to tackle former Wallaby and large unit Dan Herbert in a u13 trial game (yes he was large then as well). It played a major part in my decision to return to playing soccer and retire from rah rah after a distinguished* 1 year career.

Exactly that! KFP started using it and it was always guaranteed to get some hackles up.

Yeah, similar. After more injuries then games played, I gave up League at 17 and went back to Soccer.

I played alongside notorious and now jailed kingpin Michael Ibrahim at Wentworthville Magpies. Who would have known at the time.

You don't have to agree with what is offered, but it would be good manners to thank them and to just keep your incredulity to yourself.
Incredulity. Oooh, nice word.

I got Lane in a couple of weeks ago (choosing between him, Hopgood and Hudson Young, gah) and he's failed the eye test since then. Just plodding along losing cash. He does have great byes, but feels like a mistake at the moment. If I only make one trade this week it'll be Lane to Tapine, but there's an argument that that's sideways.
I chose between Lane and DBags/Brown... I'm kinda with you on the eye test, at least for the Knights game (didn't watch much of the Titans game).
Tapine has somewhat similar questions on him as Lane. I'll likely trade in Tapine (for Ford) for essentially the same reason as I'm keeping Lane (bye friendly).

The actual catalyst/final straw was when we were short and I had to play prop…..I was approximately 35kg when fully dressed and wet. It did not go well.

I forgot to mention earlier that I also played cricket with Jarrod Croker when he was a kid, as he was coming through the junior ranks at the Raiders. Todd Carney also played a few games here and there.

I didnt play league beyond u13s and definitely didnt take the footy field with anyone notable.
I did play cricket for many years with dane campell who was a bit of a redcliffe dolphins stalwart. He played a few games for the Raiders, or maybe or was Knights.
Never played football, but played rec league basketball once against Gordon Tallis post retirement (possibly a few other similar vintage broncos on that team). Also played against a few AFL players who enjoyed spending their off-season smashing their knee into your ribs every drive to the basket.

Also played indoor football with the lead singer of Wolfmother, he wasn’t very good but was enthusiastic
Also a nice dude so I didn’t tell him I wasn’t a fan.

Haha, I would have quit as soon as they asked me!
I'm built like a 90's Prop now, but was an Outside Centre/Winger. Filled in at Fullback for a Season and absolutely loved it. Until a Prop (Crater Face) broke the line and I had to tackle him after a 20 metre wind up, destroyed my left shoulder
Insult to injury I was wearing a mate's shoulder pads and the Ambo cut them off so I had to pay him back.

That reminds me, I went to school with James Hopes. He was good at everything. Running swimming basketball . You name it.

Yeah that’s pretty much what happened when I ‘tackled’ Dan Herbert. Luckily I was 13 and made of rubber.
The theory behind sticking me at Prop was that I was a kamikaze tackler and scrums are just like a big tackle….they are not as my pencil neck found out
