Thanks yeah really wasnt a fan of Arey especially since i just moved him on (as losing cash and also not good for H2H finals)

Drinky is in form but just not sure if its worth paying 100k more then I could have got him for a month ago.

Meaney was a interesting option the Ametuers brought up. He kicks goals as long as Papy doesnt come back (which is looking unlikely)

I really just dont like any of the options. Edwards will be a top WFB but then I just see Tapine and Tohu cheaper and better.

I could actually do Bateman (have no E cover) + Tohu and then play Tommy T for 1 week and go Granville/Niko to Ponga next week.

I love your posts MS. Really appreciate your insight.

For the first time I actually felt a little angry at a Rugby League match. Absolutely cannot believe those last 12 minutes from the Blues. I've also come to the solemn realization that there was more to our losses during my teenage years (essentially up to 2015) than the obvious mismatch between the QLD and NSW spines. the Blues just don't have the same bulldog attitude as the Maroons. Liam Martin and Latrell (and kinda Frizz) are the only current players that compare. If we had mid 2010s Klemmer and PG13 in that Blues squad, we'd have put them away at the end there. If QLD had the same opportunities as NSW in that first half they'd have scored 3 tries. I'm just not a fan of the Panthers style of play we've subscribed to and honestly if Cleary is, as Joey says, going to be better than he was in a few years, he needs to stamp himself on the Origin level in games like last night.

    Rant over, sorry.

EDIT: Walsh is a future superstar. Looked so comfortable out there last night (bar that drop) and made Teddy look like a baby in comparison.

Great read MS, I had a similar, albeit far less articulate and well-informed, conversation about this today. Early in the dynasty we were all frustrated and wondering why NSW just didn’t seem to want to win as much as Queensland, but with hindsight it almost seems ridiculous to think they could have overcome such a consistent team made from the absolute greatest of the era by slapping together the latest in-form players and sending them in to get slaughtered.

I'm dribbling in Brisbane atm. Was gonna go to the Bris meet-up last year but ended up going to magic round with 10+ mates instead. Me and all my heaps of friends then swam in a really big pool I have in my back yard (500m sized pool, really really big) and all my mates really like me.

Even in 2014 when they broke the drought, it was only done due to a Cronk broken arm and Hayne playing out of his skin

That was the greatest game ever. Was in Year 12 and me and all my mates drank warm yellow (light) TUNs we hid in bushes on the roof of a public toilet post-game until we all power spewed. School next day was sick.

Whenever the 2014 drought breaking series comes up, my first thought is Hayne is now in jail.

You could’ve put Brock Lamb there and they would’ve won imo

Too true. They could have so easily won 10 in a row, opened a portal to Outworld and merged the realms.

I’d like to see less high balls from nsw as well, qld are very good at ‘protecting/escorting’. No way the ref was gunna call those penalties.

Hayneous Crimes has never been more relevant cheer . But I am at ease with the justice system. I believe that as a society, we owe a debt to keep the vaginas safe from the vaginabiters.

Am I dumb to be considering Isaako over Edwards as my WFB purchase this week?

    Points for Isaako:

    * 116k cheaper
    * Kicks goals so there's an extra source of points
    * Has been consistently scoring tries and doesn't look like stopping.
    * Zero risk of getting selected for Origin

    Points for Edwards:

    * Better season average so far, more involved in attack than he has been in past years
    * Plays round 16 and has one less bye remaining than Isaako does (19 compared to Isaako's byes in 16 and 21)
    * Fullbacks generally do better than wingers
    * Next 4 matchups are very easy for him - Dragons Roosters Cowboys (minus Origin players) and Knights

    Love your insight MS.
As an old codger who sat through pretty much every Origin series from the early 80s, the 8 in a row was not Pearce's fault.
Your analysis of the plodder packs that NSW rolled out over that decade of misery is exactly the problem.

Not sure where the Blues go now. Moving forward, mass changes will not work. Keeping every player from the 17 is also not on the cards.
The fact that Freddie had Hynes sitting on the bench as insurance (probably in response to the Teddy HIA head-slam by Arrow a couple of years back) rather than having any clear plan to use him is insanity. 3 bench rotation in an Origin is just asking for your Hooker to be gassed at 65 mins.
I think Latrell being parachuted back in is the only change Freddie will make (barring injuries).

I was thinking today that Teddy played a game which really showcased a 30 year old fullback past his prime and that I was surprised that amongst all the falling over his pants didn’t fall down- but then I remembered that they did! Embarassed

Really hope this is a form thing for Teddy though, its never fun to watch champions struggle.

I was at that game and it was one of the most boring origins I've been to.

For a few, years NSW game plan seemed to be make the games as dull and low scoring a slogfest as possible, and hope to jag a win on goalkicking.

They still play boring now. One out hit ups then kick

I was at the 2019 decider where Teddy scored on the buzzer and couldn’t tell you anything of interest but the final play

Lots of chat on here about NSW changes, but what about QLD?
    Who takes Gilbert’s spot?
Hopgood would have to be in the mix.
