I think I have to pass on Fainu and Turpin with only 8 trades left. Pencilled in Cleary, Hynes and Te Whare to Moses, Ponga and Manu over this week and next.

Cleary to Ponga this week unless Talau or Te Whare can jag a score. Could swerve to Moses then, but might just play Hedwards at 17 and make sure Moses doesn't get a shock call-up (don't think he will unless more injuries strike).

Holding Preston, IPap and Bula for Rd 17.. will probably need at least 3 trades to punt Talau, Hedwards and Oloapu and hope Teddy, Carrigan and Grant back-up. Leaves 2 trades at most for a couple of rounds until the bonus 8. Rd 19 numbers look pretty good, but will have to monitor that.

Will have 11 next week if everything goes to plan. MID and HK the missing pieces, so could grab Robson next week if Moses isn't available. Lost over 500 ranks dropping from 830th last bye round, so probably get my teeth kicked in again.

Snatchpato wrote:- Gut instinct is to hold Cleary this week and reassess next week. Don't want to risk trading to Moses only for him to not play next week. SJ could be the answer (but no round 16), I must be one of the only people not to own him.

This is what I'm doing too, and I feel so strongly about it being a wait a week that I'm stuck playing both Oloapu and IKat this week. JDB, Cleary, Drinkwater & Robson in my NPRs. I'm going to have both a Mid and a Half free next week, depending on the status of Hynes, and Cleary could become either Moses or Matto quite easily. Toyed with the idea of Cleary to Dedwards as well (moving Ponga up to HLF) but I'm not sure how Cleary out will impact his performance

I have no plans to hold Cleary any longer than a week though

Feel like the majority as I'll be going Cleary to Moses this week. The other consideration is Loeiro to Bateman. I'm happy to take the punt that Bateman is someone I want in my final team now that he is spending time in the middle and I can get him in now. Edge is also the position I believe is the weakest in my team. after these trades I'll still have 11 trades remaining and 259k itb.

    Team

    Cook
    Haas Elliot Carrigan
    Davey Loeiro ->(Bateman)
    SJ Hynes
    Lemuelu Manu
    Edwards Teddy Bula

    Grant Moses Ford Ponga
    Fainu JDB Turpin Oloapu

If anyone sees anything else I'm missing, let me know.

Qld will name their team Monday morning but NSW will wait until Tues morning because there's so any potential selections in the Monday arvo game.

Delaying my HLF decision until next week is less worrying about Moses playing and more knowing there’s a chance Freddie is cooked enough to overlook Hynes.

What are the current thoughts on Manu?

didn't look the best in his return game last week, will lose cash this week
or are we still expecting he puts up big scores for another few week while Walker is away?

currently have Bird, Smith & Talau
not the best I know but I could move Manu on before he bleeds more money

Won’t be trading him out I don’t think so the lost money doesn’t matter at all.
Even if he returns to CTR he should still do a decent job

If Bird's out this week, I'll probably trade him to Manu despite the high BE (66 on footystats). Could go close to it against a Clearly-less Panthers anyway. If Bird plays, I'll hold off another week and bring him in if he's over the niggle.

Wouldn't trade him out though.. only 1 bye left and averaged 40+ at CTR the past few seasons if he's moved back.

I've had DFifi and Moses since R1. A bit different to most. Holding both for now.

    Cleary > MoFo
    Granville > Wayde Egan

For all the talk about Reynolds, Moses, Walker, Hynes etc. would anyone put it past Freddy randomly selecting Burton? Just haven't seem much discussion about him.

I could definitely see Freddy picking Moses and Burton as the halves, based purely on the fact that the last time this happened, he picked Moses and Wighton, and Wighton is now retired from rep footy so Burton is the next best thing.

It'd be a pretty decent combo tbh, two good kicking options and both are good ball runners as well.

Burton 14 seems the sensible play. But Freddie gonna Freddie so that probably won't happen

Gotta be in the frame somewhere. I was thinking CTR with TTrbo injured, but looking unlikely now. I don't think Luai necessarily deserves to be dropped and while CWalker has some brilliant moments, he disappears at times too. Burton at 14 kinda seems ideal.

I know I've banged on about it but from what I've seen there is very little evidence to show that Burton can manage a game and guide a team around and a lot more evidence that he plays better when in a supporting role with less responsibility.

Edit : so yeah, I hope Freddy picks him at 7 Very Happy
