From yafss, assuming those who are down as captaining Moses or Burton are actually bringing in Hynes, 85% of the top 1k captaining Nicho, around 6% Hopgood and 4% Bateman.

Yeah pretty sure I would have said something at the time, like, "bringing in Drinkwater, hope he goes on a run like he's done before"
57, 75, 49, 56.
It'll be hard but I'm not convinced he's a keeper and will be looking to move on for a profit at some stage. Probably run out of trades though.

Yeah completely trade dependent
If I have a spare then I’ll consider Drinky to Gutho in R19

If it's possible to move Drinky to a firing Turbo after Origin it might be hard not to. Although maybe Bula will slow down and be more of option... the cookie cutter WFB quartet of Ted, Ponga, Drinky, Bula all looking at least borderline keeper, but there are probably marginal gains to Turbo and Latrell.

Meanwhile I'm running Walsh, Bula and Edwards with Ponga as the flex WFB/HLF (will trade him to Cleary if I can swing it, otherwise just keep him until he inevitably goes down again)

You could probably even put Cooper Johns Into the panthers system and he'd look like a champion

Not seeing the appeal of Gutho, that round 27 bye sucks, I will be looking at trading out Eels ahead of it.

How many trades are you expecting to have left by then?

I get it. He plays 16 and 19 (and played 13 where most would have picked him up). Scores extra well usually when Moses is out. But can't have too many Eels because of rd18, so not for me, but would make sense for some.

In the early rounds of the season, it was actively useful to have (but preferably not more than one) player on bye for looping purposes. Think there's a bit of overstatement on how bad it'll be to be holding Souths or Eels players with the late byes, especially if you have a strong 21. Caveat is that teams might rest stars, but we have no way of knowing what the table will be like and whether that's an option for eg. Panthers or Broncos, so no point building a strategy around it.

Souths players will be great, with the bye in round 26, they will have a full team on deck in round 27.
That last game is when lots of the best players get rested, especially in teams that have guaranteed making the top 8 / top 4 / top 2 and don't really have anything to play for.
