Thanks for the advice. Think I'll hold them for next week and assess then. Hopefully Haas starts and then maybe Simpkin in r18 to make some cash could be good. Looking to get Haas, Yeo, Murray and Cleary in post origin if I can.

    Sounds good
Ultimately its your team so just have fun with this
What may be a good trade for someone, may be less relevant for you, so take the advice but make that decision yourself and move on
Nothing worse choosing the wrong player, or the player you were told doesn't work out so don't live with regret
Less chance to be disappointed if you make that call and let the fantasy gods decide the outcome.

My only regret was having kfc wicked wings for lunch yesterday

Rounds 2 to 5 was injuries to - Cheese, Ponga, Talau, Harris (as Captain), NAS, Douehi, plus Trindall. Without the injuries I would have been top 1,000 and in the hunt. Instead couldn't field 17 each week, had low scores and dropped to 20k rank. Look what happens to my team when it isn't getting so many injuries that I couldn't trade them out fast enough.

Got confused by the R17 - 0 thing - as you were - if it is any consolation - I got out to 38,000th or something!

If i had have picked the highest scoring players that did not get injured, I would also be in the top 1,000... Life is so unfair

Have spent most of the last week resisting the urge to trade Tapine to NAS to “feel” competitive for the week. Currently have Hedwards to Matto locked in for this week. Is that weird? Hedwards would have gone to Haas next week but no guarantee he backs up and I’ll need an EDG

Matto might drop a 30 this week but I feel like holding Hedwards just as a number is silly, while Hedwards seems like a 30s plodder anyway. Queue Matto shitting it and Hedwards getting another 70

Will make it harder to bring in Haas, Fifita and Cleary later on but not impossible

Im thinking matto probably scores well. Doubt hes going to play as a 'traditional' six, and probably defends inside carty / slides into the middle at times

Guth i reckon does a fair bit if the 7 style role when eels have the ball

Its an interesting point. You pass a lot of h2h teams during byes once you're in the 500s/1000s/upwards i think

Had a look at my team, for rounds 8, 12, and 15. While i've been gaining ranks overall, the gap to 100th place (at time of those roudns) hasn't shortened by a huge amount, and 1st is widening the gap.

So while I've moved up 2300 ranks in that time, i'm not really making much of a dent on teams pushing into the top 100
    The MTBs

    Round 8 - Overall Rank: 3903
    Points difference to:
    1st: 497
    100th: 293

    Round 12 - Overall Rank: 1247
    Points difference to:
    1st: 500
    100th: 247

    Round 15 - Overall Rank: 623
    Points difference to:
    1st: 663
    100th: 215

Little trick, if you add &round_id=8 (or whatever round number), you get a snapshot of your team (or any team) to that round.

EG the MTBS (and the top 100) at end of round 8 - https://footystatistics.com/team_analyser.php?team_id=68004&round_id=8
Nice experiment to look at - Suaali'i You Can't Be Serious

    Round 8 Rank 3628
    Points diff to 1st: 488
    Points diff to 100th: 284

    Round 12 Rank 3410
    Points diff to 1st: 648
    Points diff to 100th: 395

    Round 15 Rank 2541
    Points diff to 1st: 922
    Points diff to 100th: 474

So not exactly great from my squad. Dropping in all regards aside from rank (but most likely this is due to overtaking all those H2H teams.

My only real hope is that I've still got 6 trades after making 2 this week, so hopefully I can start making ground in the next 4 weeks as the top teams run low on trades.

I’m getting Matto and Gutho this week and honestly think the range is 25-75 for both. Just hoping playing R19 as well pays off with both. No idea how Parra goes this week or how it translates to fantasy, but I think (hope) pretty much everything goes through Gutho and Matto is still pretty involved and offloading everywhere.

Longer term I think Matto might be a keeper (or a last round trade), not sure on Gutho but could do worse as WFB3/4 I guess

Another way at looking at this is worst case NAS v Matterson are both bye rentals
Both cost you a trade now to bring in and provide points this week
Both cost you a trade out of that 8trade pool if you decide to trade out after rd 20 again
Most would have a heap of spare cash right now too so even their price doesn't matter now (though could later)

Best case which one do you want as 17th man in your team
If NAS is scoring well enough you are probably keeping him at that stage too (Other than injury)

NButcher is the other player priced in between left to play though not coming off an injury
Similar byes to NAS but the roosters team list shuffle has him on paper playing FRF and who knows with trent
Similar to Matterson it probably doesn't matter here and scores well.
I would think he is an important player to their team and spends alot of time out on the park regardless of where he starts.

The correct answer will be revealed later tonight haha

    Fun times

Truth be told I was meant to grab Isaako, then Garrick
Turns out using a shotgun and a wall taped with nrl cards to choose your bye WFB is a valid approach

Hynes and Johnson at HLF and Ponga above Oloapu in the reserves. If Ponga's crap, move Oloapu above Ponga or into Johnson's starting spot.
