Might have to do a minute or two of somewhat careful thinking before I make a decision. Sandon is out for me as I already own Ted, Turpin, Nutcher, and Manu. I could look at Cartwright as a cash out option. Not sure I like my chances of Basil and Stimson swapping on game day. In conclusion, this is bound to be a revert back to the old style of reading way too much into the sitch and regretting the result. Thanks for reading.

Yeah kinda felt the same most weeks, but a lot of different combos available this week.. could be make or break. Roosters only remaining bye is Rd 19, so wouldn't necessarily rule Sandon out on that basis. Unless you mean because Roosters suck this year.. then yeah, can see your point.

Why is Tino not being thrown around as a POD for the back end of the season? Priced high for sure but super consistent scoring, and a favourable bye schedule. Am I missing something obvious, or trying to be too clever?

Full disclosure - I don't have Haas, but his byes are putting me off.

Top tier halves are going to be in short supply over the next 2-3 seasons, when all the following are due to retire. Going to create a huge gap between teams that have the top tier next generation halves and those that don't:

    Reynolds age 32
    SJ 32
    Hunt 33
    Keary 31
    DCE 34
    Cody Walker 33
and Wighton is becoming a CTR

Look at his scoring for the first half of the year

At 30-40k cheaper than JDB, Yeo, the latter 2 will offer far more consistent 60-65+ scores

Though it is annual Titans try to lull me into thinking they’re a good team with 3 good games at the backend season

Don't reckon Yeo might see minute reductions towards the end of the year as the Panthers wrap up a finals berth? Granted it's a lot closer comp this year, but that's got me worried.

With how the comp is going this year, I can't see Penrith taking their foot off the throttle until maybe the last game or 2.

I spent the $250 for the Broncos comp on a Broncos polo, Storm polo, South’s polo and a QLD polo. And had to chip in a bit extra to cover it from memory. Must have been year before last, otherwise I would have got some Dolphins gear for sure.

    Good luck!

Sandon Smith seems like he'll score more in the short term and make some money, but Walker will eventually push him out, and I'm not sure I have enough trades to bring him in and back out again.

Garlick isn't a great scorer but is a handcuff for Grant (don't own him yet but he's top of the list for R20) and he is likely to stay in the 17 all year, meaning I can use him for cover this week and then just stick him at 21 for the end. That HOK/MID dual is also really handy, as most cashouts are backs and I would need a spare MID at some point.

What's the point when the handcuff scores 24 points? Trading in Garlick makes zero sense.

Don't think Sandon Smith is any better, with worse job security.

I need a replacement for Fainu to field 17 this week and don't see much else available.

    Who would you pick then?

This handcuff term really triggers me.

Must be how @Syn15 felt about 'Bob Jane.

Hosking bumped to #18 is a blow for my team.

    Cook
    Horsburgh, jdb, NAS
    Hopgood, Hosking
    Johnson, Metcalf
    Manu, Ramien
    Ponga, Tedesco, Drinkwater

    Haas, Robson, Stone, Crossland

    Oloapu, Preston, Bula, Hynes

Option 1: Pray Hosking makes his way back into the 17, Pray Klese pushes Stimson out before the game and trade him in for Oloapu

Option 2: Trade Hosking to Bird

Both options include over-reliance on prayer and a certain amount of stress and crying Embarassed

Anything else I should be looking at?

Happy to field 16 at the expense of not having to trade in another centre.

I think Smith is light years better as an option. If not, Jed or even Hands if you want to spend a bit more.

I don't think Smith is a good cashout, though he may be a good cash cow if Sam Walker's out long enough (he needs 3-4 games at least so Walker would have to be out until R21-22 at the earliest).

Jed just isn't that good, and his byes are at really annoying times, plus I'm wary of a late swap with Chee Kam.

Hands may be worth it if Hodgson can stay out of the team, but at the very least he's played every game this year since debuting so he'd be fairly safe in the 17 even with Hodgson back, so maybe he might be the better cashout. He is a bit pricey for a cashout but may be worth paying the extra there.
