Tupouinua injury means I need a EDGE this week or I'll be playing 1 short

Initial thoughts are JMK>Simpkin and Tupouinua>Blore which leaves me enough cash for Turpin>Cleary when he returns. Down to 2 trades after that lot (1 counting the pencilled in Cleary trade) so things will be getting a little hairy

Who would people see as a better trade in this week between two keepers:

    TU: Grant
    TD: Haas

Surely JMK is a keeper (For now at least) if he actually plays?

Nobody else you can trade for Simpkin?

I agree with Gus (rare occasion), bring in a draft system.
If a player wants out of their club mid-season, into the draft they go and the lowest ranked team can pick them.
/if they pass, the second lowest and so on.

Not a fan of NBA style system, where the player gets no control over where they and their family live.

Would take my total to 7 bye round players missing the bye. Likely 8 with Hynes probably selected

I kinda agree with this but...

The RLPA argued contracts should be negotiated from a year out cos players need that time to find a house, schools, etc.

Then with these midseason moves happen literally in the 4 days between NRL rounds.

Doesn’t help with Rd 19, but for $4k extra you could get Nanai instead of Blore

It was mentioned earlier in the thread, but Olaku'atu's avg with & without Turbo has me interested.

Filtered for starting 2RF, 60+ mins he averages 45.6 with Turbo and 56.7 without. Always a bit wary of those with vs without stats, so digging into it a bit deeper.

With Turbo vs without Turbo avg by season:

    2020: N/A vs 78 (only played 1 game)
    2021: 44.5 vs 68.3
    2022: 42.3 vs 54.0
    2023: 48.5 vs 49.5

So, there's an uptick every year, but a lot of it is made up from PVL-Ball in 2021, where he played 4 games without Turbo, scoring 5 tries and averaging 6 TBs per game. Not sure those stats are still relevant in 2023.

This year it's less noticeable, with only a 1 point uptick in his 4 games without Turbo.

Overall, it's his attacking stats that see the biggest uptick. His base stays consistent regardless - 27 tackles and 106m with Turbo vs 25 tackles and 114 without - but he goes from 0.3 tries with Turbo to 0.7 without, 0.2 LBs with Turbo to 0.7 without, and 3.2 TBs with to 5.4 without.

    One to consider.

Warriors barely leave NZ now, its crazy

    Rabbits at home

    Eels in Sydney

Then x2 games in NZ, bye, gold coast, Hamilton (In NZ), Mt Smart x2, Suncorp (Against Dolphins)

So only 3 games outside of NZ from now until end of season

Love this. Looked in deeper, and seriously, how deep do the Warriors go this year? Looking short odds for top 8 and good for 4th (no seriously!)

v Rabbits (8th) at sold out Mt Smart, Rabbits currently playing poor for them.
    Eels (7th) away (tough)
Home to Sharks (4th) whom we've beaten not scary
Home to Raiders (6th) whom we've beaten and not scary
    bye
Titans (9th) on Gold Coast, massive away crowd and Titans just sacked coach
    Tigers (16th) in Hamilton
Home to Manly (13th) not playing great currently
    Home to Dragons (17th!)
Away to Dolphins (11th) at Suncorp as we secure top 4

Only playing one team above us and only 3 games outside NZ! Our team is super composed and tails are up. While only Panthers, Broncos and Storm above us currently and all looking beatable right now. Give us a good draw by finishing top 4 and.... I'ma say it! Could this be our year?

When you write it all out like that it looks very promising! Always that tinge of concern based on seasons gone by...but I'm definitely looking forward to seeing a playoff match happen at Mt Smart for the first time in a long time!

By the time Cleary returns you'llhave your 8 new trades, so that's future MS problem

I thought Josh Papalii's hamsring injury might yield a cheapie or an uptake in minutes for Saulo. However, the latest injury update is he is only out for two weeks.
