TU: Robson to Murray, wait another week on Manu to Cleary
TD: Robson + Manu to Cleary + Walsh

Curious looking at the ladder isn't it usually 24-26 points to make the eight looks like 30+ this year surely that isn't normal

In the monthly, I am ranked 10th - 41 points behind first place, but only 12 points behind 3rd (and a $250 NRL shop voucher) 1st has a bit of a gap to 2nd, but after that its pretty crowded near the top, and anyone could gain or lose a bunch of places with a few extra points

Should I go POD captain option, in the hope that Hynes and Cleary both fail to fire, and hope I can pick someone to banner and catapult me to the top.
I'd pretty much use one of my remaining trades to get in a captaincy option. My odds of winning something in the monthly are good enough to risk a slightly worse overall rank if it doesn't come off. Certainly not going to win any prizes for overall.

So who is the best player not Cleary or Hynes to captain this week?
DCE vs Dragons? Give Drinky a shot vs Titans? Give one of the Dolphins a shot vs the Bulldogs (Hammer? Legitimately captain Isaako)?

If I just stick with Hynes/Cleary and everything else goes well, i could sneak into 2nd/3rd but there's a bunch of people to overtake.

ytsb and snatch also in with a shout at a prize. How are you guys going to play it?

I’d be going a POD captain. This time of year is for fun plays like that, even without $250 on the line.
I’d consider Munster. Gone 75+ in 3 of his last 4 against parra, coming off a loss, playing at Marvel Stadium. Feels like the time of year Munny goes on a run.

3 byes instead of 1 this year so add 4 points to those totals

Cleary back. Panthers clicking. Value for To'o.

I really like To'o with Cleary back, and I would think he won't rest the last round given he's had two rests already (R17 and R20), so he has that advantage over my other options (Walsh etc.)

Does mean I can't get Murray, but I already have too many forwards as it is (JDB Haas AFB Fifita Bateman Hopgood Butcher).

Now the question is do I go Robson to To'o and Manu to Cleary or delay the second trade and let Cleary leak more money and hope Manu can keep up the trend of right centres against Brisbane.

Interestingly, there's a bigger difference between To'o in 80 minute games with vs without Luai (47.3 with vs 38.8 without) than with vs without Cleary (47.5 with vs 41.4 without).

Not sure what to do with this information other than reevaluate how I spend my free time.

If you own Garrick, he may be a shout against the Dragons. Drinky vs the Titans is probably the best POD captain though (if I had him, I would do it and not think twice)

Don't own Garrick, although I am willing to trade someone in if I think its going to help. $1000 bucks or $250 voucher on the line is more than I'll wil by trying to get my overall ranking up a few spots.
He's npot a bad shout, even though he's probably a waste of a trade otherwise

Someone also suggested Munster, but last 2 times I've traded him in he's gotten injured. the next game. Don't want to risk a 3rd time

    I'm 31 points behind 3rd, and 50 behind first.

Honestly, I don't think I'm going to be taking a risk with captaincy. I'll likely slap it on Hynes and hope he banners. My success over the last 3 rounds has been mostly lucky timing with trade ins.

    Last 6 trade-ins (two a round since R19):

    R19 - Lomax (91) and Kris (50)
    R20 - Graham (49) and Fifita (49)
    R21 - Murray (70) and Yeo (72)

My bigger focus is continuing with my pre-season goal of finishing around the top 1k, so I don't think I'll be taking any unnecessary risks in pursuit of something that I'm going to need a fair bit of WFB luck for. Just going to captain Hynes and hope my WFBs can get attacking stats and dominate this weekend (Teddy, Meaney, Garrick, Lomax, Lemuelu, Manu). All these blokes can go big, but also go small. I don't see the risk/reward benefit of captaining, say, Fifita over Hynes when I could easily be out of the running with a poor game from Lomax/Meaney.

With that said, if I had to POD captain, I'd probably go Fifita for the boom option.

I literally had no idea I was in contention this month! Makes the (C)leary fail hurt a bunch more. I think I'm going to stick to a normal captaincy option in (C)leary again and pray that my "gun" 17 can pull out 20 more points than those above. I am considering Fifita as well since he seems to be a little poddish. Looking at the squads, really only need Robson to stop being a disgrace and score a solid 60+ for a shot.

Graham being named this week and getting me one last 40 point score to earn 50-60k would be really appreciated.

Am I crazy to be considering buying Drinky at this late stage and fading Cleary?

    Reasons for:

    * The Cowboys are absolutely rolling everything in front of them, with all of their attack going through him
    * The Cowboys draw is still very good, but they're fighting for a top 8 spot so he won't take it easy
    * I can sell Robson to him in a single trade, while getting Cleary would require two (only have 4 left so this matters)
    * He would be my only Cowboy so his bye wouldn't affect me too much

    Reasons against:

    * WFB at 850k so big risk of regression
    * Has a bye left while Cleary does not
    * Low floor unlike Cleary

Basically it's Cleary vs Drinky + a trade

If you had supernatural prescience or the back to the future almanac and knew that Drinkwater was going to outscore Cleary for the rest of the year it would still be the wrong decision.
