I laid him to rest Tuesday arvo under his favourite tree.  I know cats are good at hiding their pain, but he only ever seemed uncomfortable, not overly distressed, which is probably why I left the decision so long.

Sorry to yourself and everyone else who has lost their little mates recently.

Heh, something else connecting you and I. Fucking cancer.

Really sorry to hear about Sprinkles, I know EXACTLY how you felt no doubt, such a crappy feeling eh. I'm glad you got to spend a few more moments with Sprinkles, and now he will be there in the yard with you whenever you go outside Smile

Thanks mate for the kind words, and again thanks to everyone here on the forum.

Emotions are coming and going right now, I'm certainly trying to distract myself doing certain things I enjoy, but he's still on my mind. At work earlier today someone basically said "Hey sorry to hear about your cat, how old was he?" and that set me off, I couldn't answer her. I find the days harder than the nights, not sure why but just something I noticed. Just coming home from work earlier, I knew he wasn't here but I looked around in the usual spots, just in case.

20 years is one hell of an innings mate, that's a beautiful run. What got her in the end? And what was her name?

Here's an imgur link I uploaded earlier with a few photos of my guy

    Sorry for the late reply;
I went through the same thing with my cat after her passing. She was black, so I'd constantly catch black objects out of the corner of my eye and think it was her.
That side of things gets better with time.

    I'll save people reading about it that don't want to;
    Sadness:

Your guy looks like he was a real character.
I hope you have found some peace and are coming to terms with things.

It's always hard to know the right time, it often seems like they know though (they sometimes seem to know things beyond what we can).

I'm really sorry for your loss, and hope you are doing okay

2023 was a good warm-up year for them, and even then they were unlucky not to take home the trophy.

The Bulldogs should probably be at the floor price $101, and join the other two as close to 0% chance of shifting their 2023 performances to a premiership-winning 2024

So I had my eyes tested today I was close to a year overdue. My up close reading is worse even though I’m short sided and can’t see things in the distance. So when on my iPhone or iPad or at work on self serve I need to wear reading glasses but distance will be blurry, when at work not on self serve and when supervising I wear my distance ones. It’s gonna be a bit annoying but it is what it is……. I just have to make sure you nobody at work steals them it cost me $1119 for the two pairs the health fund only covered $236 I was out of pocket $883. Due to my reading up close being worse it’s made my long distance worse as well one step left eye and two steps worse in right eye. Anyway I need 2 new frames one for each and 2 lots of lenses. I needed another test today too on my eyes coveted by Medicare and another where I was $60 out of pocket so $943 all up out of pocket.

My general eye health is pretty good for someone who is -9.50 right eye and -8.50 left eye. But when doing the 3rd test today they can see my veins at back of right eye are quite an amount thinner than they should be. The optometrist wants me to go my GP and check my heart rate and blood pressure plus general blood test she thinks that could be why the blood isn’t flowing through the veins properly and why they’re narrowed at back of right eye.

When I pick my glasses up I need another test as well. So yearly now when I get my eye test I need 3 other tests as well as the eye test just to be cautious.

Anyway good to get it looked at as with up close reading lately my long distance glasses haven’t been what I need for that and I’ve been dizzy and getting headaches

Being a Souths supporter I thought dental would have been your main concern ? Badum1

Seriuosly though, are bifocals not an option ? I think you can get ones that reansition between long and short now to reduce the bluriness and having to swap between 2 pairs

Bulldogs being ahead of 5 teams is laughable. Damn the table, they were week-to-week the worst team in the comp in 2023. Having Gould with his media presence managing perceptions, and Ciraldo still being viewed as some amazing coach somehow, is doing a lot of heavy lifting for them.

I don't think that Crichton v Taaffe shootout for FB moves the needle.

    Tigers have more upside IMO

@Rabbits As a short sighted old man I can confirm that this is the case...it's not even like the olden days where there is a dirty great line through the lense. I wear transition contacts, which is just a less stigmatised word for bifocals.

Rabbits script is pretty strong though (i.e. very strong as I'm quite blind and his is well over twice mine) so maybe they are not an option for him

I tried multi focals a couple of years ago and I couldn’t adjust to it.

On another note Souths have signed Sean Keppie.

Think he will make the 17? Doesn't strike me as a workhorse from what I've seen, more the Aaron Woods type 20 minutes of bread & butter

I think he’s better than Liam Knight but not sure he’s better than Hame Sele.

He can put a hit on. He’s a big human. Sometimes he gives silly penalties away though.

I think he will make our best 17 yes for sure.

He’s 25 so hopefully coming into his best years as a prop soon.

$1000 plus for two pairs sounds like they are stealing from you. Is that correct, are there not cheaper options?

My eyes are reasonably fkd (kerataconus/astigmatism/cant read phone in front of my through left eye) and im pretty sure last time i got two pairs at bailey nelson it was around 500 bucks.

I do pay a bit extra too so the lenses aren’t as fat. Mine is such a strong prescription.

    Anyone watching the Tests?

My 7yo was giving me regular updates on Sat night while watching it on my phone. I'll have to get him into fantasy in a couple of years. He also watch Fiji the weekend before when I told him Ravalawa was playing. Older kids not as interested.

How convenient Angus, Suaali both staying now no way they're under the cap let minimum wage guys go and get Young and Leniu. Plus Tupou and JWH who were retiring now staying I shouldn’t be surprised. Look at their roster funny isn’t it they had to let someone go now they don’t…..
