Hhhmmmm not sounding great re Jayden Campbell hasn’t even started training yet after off season surgery.

I may need to re jig my WFB now whether it’s going up to a Ponga or going with a Munro or Sivo along with Pap and the Raiders FB… hhhmmmmm

Relieved that I won't have the chance to fall into the Campbell trap, really.

His injury was from the late rounds last year iirc.

So if fit you dont reckon he would’ve started? I reckon he would have.

Yeah, I think he'd have probably started. Not sure how long for.

Also, having the R2 bye would have meant you could have had look at him in R1 and be able to bring him in for R3 if he scored well and looked good. If he's injured then it takes the decision of whether to start him or whether to do that out of my hands, which is probably for the best.

    Cheers rhinoceroo,

The only locked in players I have ATM are Chin & Haas.
Everything else is wait and see.

I've checked out a cuple of the Raiders players, they look promising ... but, Stickey's gonna Stickey.
I still remember how he shafted Savage in and out of the team.

Tigers cheapie of most interest could be whoever partners Sezer in the halves (or potentially just get Sezer himself)

Assume it will be Sullivan or Latu Fainu. With no round 1 team list to go on, will have to hope trials make it clear which one it will be

if the winger isn't Alaimalo, it could be Alex Lobb (not currently in system, so assume base price)

Tigers forum had Toa+Staines training on the right and Tupou+Lobb on the left

That was before Olam joined, so he'd take one spot.

I suspect wings will be fairly bland in Tupou and Staines, with Sullivan at 6 - but I guess we're all hoping for a bolter to offer some fantasy value

Would think that means Lobb gets the left wing and Olam pushes Tupou out of left centre.

Tigers also don't have a set goalkicker and his goalkicking may be the thing that pushes him over the line.

Sezer was one of the best kickers in the comp before he went to the Raiders. Probably still got a knack

I've stuck an extremely alpha version of a team optimiser on yafss front page.

Basically, set your player projections in terms of points (or use my very poor projections), hit optimise and it will spit back the optimal team.

Tupou could also shift out to a wing. Its annoying there's no round 1 team list to know for certain how they'll run, but it may be trials are enough.

I doubt that they will pick any player solely for goal-kicking though. When was the last time that happened? Luke Covell?
Sezer and/or Koroisau are good enough, ad they'll both be in the team if fit

Pete Badel reporting that TPJ has met with the Broncos management with the aim to return to the Broncos this season

Nothing quite like the TPJ fantasy Rollercoaster
Hope he has his back fixed and is keen to train hard

I was always a big TPJ fan, but in hindsight, did feel like he was part of the problem(s) at the club.

Don't know if we really need him but if he put his head down then sure, get in there.

Maybe a 25-30 min bench role for him..stick him at the Magpies for the first half of the season and see if he really wants it

Feel like the whole story is BS anyway

He's certainly a big boy, although so is Tommy Talau.

Get him the EDG dual and he's the classic MattNZ pre-season pick!

(With the caveat that it's only Rugby Union, the highlights reel is indeed very tempting, but when are highlights reels not?)

Yeah a forewarning on highlights reels. I was sucked into the Jeral Skelton hype last season...
