mattnz wrote:For some perspective on the scoring of 6s next to DCE, (and also impacted by Turbo being the other key play maker when not injured), we have the following averages (games over 60 minutes):

Blake Green 28 - has had seasons averaging 40 in the halves at other clubs
Dylan Walker 31 - has had seasons averaging 45 at CTR
    Croker 22 - averaged 44 at HOK
Foran 31 - has had seasons averaging 45 elsewhere in the halves
Schuster 32 - Has had a much higher average at EDG
Cooper Johns 19 - 32 average at Storm

Its really a shit position that scores very badly, with none of his halves partners averaging more than 32 during his career, despite scoring much higher in other positions or at other clubs. The odds of someone doing badly as Manly 6, but scoring well at another club are very high.

So Weekes is going from being next to a dominant half and moving to Raiders next to a dominant half

I’m only considering the Raiders cheapies because they’re base price and in Strange’s case, I can’t actually pick 3 CTRs worthwhile picking without him

Hearing Rhyse Martin keen to come to the Dolphins. Turns 31 this year. Wouldn't be a bad get considering Nicholls and JBrom looking at retirement end of year, and you'd think Kaufusi getting close to the end too.

With current signings, future Phins forward pack tor 2025 looking like:

    Flegler Wallace
    Lemuelu Keeley
    Gilberto
    Kaufusi KBrom Kerr/Stone/Teague

For 2024, I think there's high chances of seeing Teague and Keeley get more gametime. The 14th position will be interesting the the Phins. We also need to blood some time for Plath.

Fogarty doesn't dominate a game like DCE and Turbo do. DCE takes all the kicking and between them they take all the play making.

Wighton averages 40 next to Fogarty. None of DCE's 6s have got close to that.

Ah, Rhyse Martin. Kicked 41 goals in a row in Super League. Has been playing a bit of centre too so could come over as DPP. Think that story is about 2025 though.

Would it not be easier to accept that Weekes had a terrible, out of his depth game that time his teamed shipped 44 points, many of them down to him, on his 5/8th debut, after which he was never selected at 5/8th in first grade again?

I do remember everybody on the forum and even the TV commentators saying after 40 minutes "wow, Kaeo Weekes is pretty bad at rugby league, huh?" while one voice was going "great half from Weekes, 20 fantasy points" but enough time has passed now surely.

When I've owned Fogarty in the past, I've generally been happy with my selection because he's the dominant half who does the kicking and goal kicking.

That said, Weekes is near base price right? Hard to say no to a base price starting half, although I've put zero thought into fantasy so far this year.

I would have to google him to find out what he looks like/who he is.

A cheapie is a cheapie. If he starts hes probably in my team. Unless there are better cheapies. Nfi

Dont really understand trying to convince the rest of the fantasy world he is amazing. Wouldnt it be better to keep that shit under wraps

Nobody is not getting Weekes if he's starting 6 at 252k. Also nobody (well, hardly anybody) is expecting 40+ scores from him.

Looks like 2025 but could be some wiggle room depending on what's the go.

Weekes will be a play or npr decision for all.
Campbell is really high ownership, I’ve heard he hasn’t even started to train yet.
With a round 2 bye is there something I’m missing?

You didn't mention that it was the Panthers that thrashed them.

In the first half he made 20 tackles, missed 3.

    I like your heels.

And Campbell - starting average in early 40s gives a price target of 600s. Decent return, with a chunk of uncertainty.

Yeah, I remember. He didn't get close enough to miss more than that, poor kid had an absolute stinker. It can happen.

They were 30-0 down at half time with all the traffic coming down Weekes's channel. If I remember correctly they hid him on the wing in the second half. They certainly didn't play him in at 5/8th again.

2015 Kieren Foran averaged 39 next to DCE and under old scoring, so that's at least one near 40

Anyway, base priced starting five-eighth means everyone will be on. Doubt he gets close to a 40 average personally, but doesn't really matter as pretty much everyone will be in the same boat.
I just hope he gets some patience from coach Ricky (if he decides that he's the best guy to start)
