If Campbell is out, would Brimson not be next in line over Kini?

If Kini puts up a 45 week 1, he goes up 27k and then has a bye. By week 3 we'll have a better idea of pecking order and Campbell's eta, and if Kini is worth it. If Kini puts up a 20 week 1, you could save yourself the heartache by waiting. Those early byes are real killers for cash cow momentum. Cheap starting fullbacks are always awfully tempting though.
Really good point. Comes down to risk appetite.
Hopefully we get some more word on JC pre Round 1. If Kini lights it up in week 2 trials, gonna be very hard to pass him up.

Assistant Coach said AJ will be the center and has trained there all preseason. Also said Kini would be fullback.

Averaged 50 in Cup last season. Looks the goods as well, very elusive.
2 game sample but averages 30 in NRL as starting FB. A 16 and a 44.
Would guess he ends up closer to 30 than 50. Probably needs more than 3-4 games to make decent bank.

For fantasy, I suppose it's bad for Lomax, with fewer tackles than at centre and the only chance for major attacking stats being getting himself on the end of a Dragons backline move.
Sloan? Probably about neutral for fantasy, maybe fewer errors...
Yeah think that's about right for fantasy. I was real life pondering, I currently have pre-season optimism and all aboard the Flanno hype train. He will make this work. Lomax will be a NSW Origin winger by 2025 and Sloan will become a competent player and score 15 tries this season.

Average is sort of irrelevant if you're picking him in the hope of fast cash in a few games.
He could play an entire season at FB and average 35-40 or so. But in a short game stretch that might mean a few 20s or a few 50s.
Its a gamble.

All of this. Pick him up before R3 if the job security and BE both look ok at that point.

This maybe works if JC is further delayed (i.e. R6+) - although works even better starting as you've saved a trade.
If he's back Round 3, then it's a good dodge, round 4 probably still was better to dodge.
Round 5, and Kini was maybe an okay pick, but there's no way you're bringing him in for 2 weeks.
On the assumption that Kini can produce 2 or 3 weeks of 30+ scores for a $279k outlay, I'd suggest the combination of points (for that price) and some minor cash gains is arguably worthwhile early in the season.
I'd rather have a sub $300k player sit out an early bye than a $600k+ player (where you're replacing good points with a pretty marginal scoring #18-21 fantasy player) - so I don't see it as a make-or-break problem

You can now register/login on yafss, to save your projections rather than relying on my ones from scratch each time.
It's not heavily tested, but hopefully it works. Allowing registration should allow some fun stuff for the new season e.g. storing your team name and highlighting it on the par chart etc.

Good to be back boys, hope the new year has been treating you all well! Almost missed rego with too much work - thanks Cookie. Looking forward to another disappointing start to the season (someone stop me from starting with too many rogue picks).

That is awesome ynot!
Do you have the capacity to log different projections and get a spread of what people predict? If you tracked this over time you would get some really useful data provided people were making reasonable predictions.

Question for all
If ynot can aggregate all our projections, do we want to use that to select our initial community team, rather than the player voting method we've used in the past

There would have to be a way to exclude non-Fanatics from the aggregation, or it wouldn't really be our Community Team
We'd probably have to also exclude people who create a new account on here in the next few weeks (and don't post anything), to stop any shenanigans from our own members

Hah, yeah. That wouldn't be funny at all. Just imagine it - a tide of votes saying we whack the C on Corey Allen to start with.
Wouldn't be funny. Not at all. A tiny little script would make a bunch of headaches that weren't even a little funny.
Nope.

Probably not going to miss any games over it but Aloiai 'liked' a comment on a social media where someone was saying Latrell always plays the race card.
Someone caught it. He deleted the post and says it was an accident.
