Showbags wrote:Hey guys, I know it's pretty early, but was wondering if I could get advice for bye planning as I always seem to get it wrong.
So far I have seen people mentioning about forgetting round 12 and concentrating on maximising the rest. My question is, what about focusing on complimentary pairings to ensure you field a minimum of 13 every bye? And forgetting about maximising any individual week?
Interested in this as well. Personally I tend to write 1 round off because it just gets all too hard to make trades that are still genuinely good Fantasy players vs genuinely good Bye players.
But if you are bye planning for Overall, always remember that whatever the combination/number of players in any given round is not as important as the gross score you have after the last game in Round 26.

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 19
I'm so undecided on my trades. If I go DCE to RTS I don't have to worry about my backline as i'll have Croker, Roberts, Barba, Teddy, RTS all keepers in my eyes.
But I really want to get rid of Jniko this round. I was going to go McInnes to be different from the crowd but Parcel delivering the goods and is cheaper..

Makes the games that bit more exciting. They play each other in Round 10; maybe work towards bringing someone in by then

I think RTS shouldn't go too far above his BE this week, so you could probably get away with it next week and pick up Parcell before you miss the boat. That's what I'd do anyway.
Then again, you're the one who is killing it rankings wise anyway, so what do I know?

DCE - Sezer
Carty - Parker
Id do it if I had Cartwright. Sezer is a POD keeper imo so you can't go wrong there.

Was going to suggest the same thing, but, like you, I was hesitant about giving MF suggestions this year as well!

Haha don't be silly. If you guys think i'm making a bad decision let me know. If it wasn't for the advice on this forum I wouldn't be in any position like I am I doubt it'll last all year so i'm enjoying it now. I take everything on board regardless Anyway my main goal is to make it into L2 for next year.
At the moment BHBF I have gone for Parcel. I agree with you totally to think if he scores 50 (still a decent score) he'll only rise a few K. Can probably wait but however i'm sure he'll like to show up his old club.

I am picking Ben Hunt over those 2. He should average in the 55-60 range. He'll have some huge games, and some low ones. Solid durability too.

L2 minus a few has been pretty average so far... I have jagged 3 wins and have never been anything more than mediocre through 4 rounds

You're probably right, and Bhunts scores have been solid, but just wary as a Broncs supporter that we might see a lot more ball go through Milf this year. But that could just be that as he gets hyped up more and more by the media it just gets more noticeable how much he does in a game, and I'm probably completely wrong.

Tossing up between them but also Ben Hunt and Shaun Johnson. I'm even considering Aidan Sezer as a left of field POD option. Only problem with Sezer is the guy's always injured but hey nobody ever won big in life without taking a few risks right?

Re: 2016 NRL.com Fantasy thread part 19
Took a view outside the tunnel I was staring down and reversed my trades with more information out there.
Ferguson out for Bowen instead of Latrell.
Paasi out for BLaw instead of Tolman.
Leaves me with 247k in the bank, rather than 4k, and set to upgrade Campbell-Gillard to Tolman next week. Having four Manly players is starting to make my stomach turn however.

I liked the look of Brown last week but Carter got hooked for what 60mins? and they had Auv'a on the bench. Now they have 3 proper forwards on the bench plus Sammy playing prop I think there is every chance he will be getting a decent spell
