I think most have been scared off, with Trindall in the team and coming back from injury, could see "Hynes lite".

Kiraz is being mentioned a lot.  What are people expecting from him?

In 80 minute games he has averaged 39 on the wing and 46 in centres.  It's only a 4 game sample in the centre though. It seems to me people are thinking he will average around 46 (or more).

If Kiraz can average 46 going forward that would make him truly elite.  For example, in 2023 only Gagai (54) and Tago (49) were comfortably above that level.  Herbie, Manu and Holmes were around that level (47.5, 47, 46.3 respectively).  Kiraz would then be above players like Campbell Graham (44), Stephen Crichton (45), Lomax (43), Best (43), Penisini (42), Ramien (40), Staggs (38).

The assumption Kiraz could average 46 therefore felt like a bit of a stretch to me.

I went and did some "research" by comparing scores for players who played centre and wing in the same year.   I started with a few obvious guns, Holmes and Gagai, and they both had an uptick of 6+ when playing centre compared to playing wing.  The more I looked at lower scoring players, the less clear it became.

Played Wing and Centre in Same Year:

Perhaps a rough rule of thumb is that the better the player the more they will have an uptick in fantasy points playing centre over wing??  So maybe 46-47 is not too unrealistic after all.

Relating to my previous post, for the same price as Kiraz, one can get the Hammer.  I had been leaning to Hammer at the moment for the following reasons:

    • He is slightly underpriced due to his few games playing centre in 2023

    • Like Kiraz, he has dual WFB/CTR

    • When playing fullback in 2023, he averaged 46.8 across 9 games when O'Sullivan was playing (verse 37.8 in 8 games without O'Sullivan).  I think O'Sullivan is the type of half who is good for his fullback.

Or maybe I'll just drop back to Suli...

Would love to know what context Leniu pulls out of his ass to try to justify using that word against an aboriginal player but ‘totally not in a racially motivated way’

He is built for fantasy, offloads, tackle breaks, big run meters, hates to be tackled with ball in hand and at CTR he gets a few tackles as well. Puts together scoring in lots of areas as his base. If he gets a try or 2 as well, can go huge, like the 90 we saw to start last season.

Don't understand the RTS pick at all that I've been seeing

Was a 50 average fullback with 3 point tbs moving to centres priced at 45 after not playing since 2021

I won't get into the argument over "doing your own research" versus "go with the gut" - just that I appreciate Rabbits for putting his perspective out there even if some people on here will disagree with him.

'I'll have nothing further to say and the matter, but you brought it up and you really should stick to footy and fantasy.

    Lots of love. Rabbit.'

We don't have to agree on everything that is going on in the world, the reason we are part of this little corner of the internet is a shared love of League and a (often sick) passion for running imaginary football teams.

Accepting others' perspectives and letting things go through to the keeper is the way to go.
If it hits a nerve - then say your piece and move on. Live and let live and all that.

    That's my twenty cents worth.
    Now back to the footy.

    JMK vs. Api as hooker?
    Thoughts.
I'm still leaning towards JMK, but the $42k spare is tempting.
Someone convince me that Api is a better pick up.

    Cheers,
    The Bludger

Struggling with my last team call, so welcome anybody's views. Basically:

    Smithies/Flegler + Niu

    vs

Palasia (or anyone else under $440k) + Kiraz

Both would have to play in my 17. Basically is the upgrade from Niu to Kiraz worth the downgrade from Smithies or Flegler to Palasia?

Ladies and Genticals – would appreciate a tiny bit of support on this one.

Option 1 – Elliot (mid), Kiraz (ctr), play one of Strange, Flano, Chan at 17.

Option 2 – Cotter (mid), Strange (ctr), Lolo at 17, no centre cover.

    Plenty of room.

I've bit the bullet and gone Nicholas and Nathan over a gun Mid. Will be much more fun watching both of them.
