How many of us have spent 4 hours thinking about R1 teamlists?

Detecting those teams would be substantially harder. The best test will be to see 'dead' teams of low/nonreactive trade counts around Origin.

It took me 4-5 months to write this script Jimmy...

How are you even seeing these teams? App tells me off for being a peeping tom when trying to look at the ranking teams. Different on website?

Looking at a bunch of last year's top performers - many of them started fairly low ranks. Booze started off around 30k after round 1. Eases the mind to know that the impact being 50-100 points behind to start is a drop in the ocean if you have made selections with sound process and of course a bit of luck.

mattnz wrote:Ok, this keeps getting weirder, in the top 100 teams, only 5!!! have 0 players that didn't play for their team this week (and even they aren't well constructed, bench hookers etc in their team).

You know how we thought the number of teams seemed really high to start the season, I have a suspicion that someone has created an autofill bot and has thousands of teams.

Have to admit I haven't caught up on anything today and I'm just having a quick look before bed at a couple of things. I was looking at those first few teams and didn't understand it. They've all randomly plucked out a lot of the monster scorers, and I guess that's cool - someone has to do it, with the amount of variance available for each team. But I don't understand why they all have these pointless non-playing selections at the bottom of their 21.

As I scroll a few more I note that a lot of them are 230K players, I guess selected to get the maximum value into the playing 17.

Okay, just another quick filter and it looks like only two 230K players actually played this week. Quite a few 250K, but not many 230K. lol @ how they all preferred to select a red/pink dot over V.Fafita. Wise.

Anyway, what do I know. I'm tired as balls and ranked 56,950, so what on earth right to I had to be commenting on anyone else's team? Good luck to those teams. They seem to be legit, but again, what do I know? For my curiosity, where do the teams with Carty (C) and all players from the last three matches kick in, in the Rankings?

Looks like another year of all-in on H2H for me, which is cool. Business as usual. It'd be nice to be able to be involved in the Overall side of things again, but it's not going to be this year. Maybe next year...

679 for me, 399k in the bank and chasing the game so just a heads up to those with Fogarty I am trading him in this week for Hutch so expect a points exchange between those two in the coming round.

Great recap. Is there a way you can link each bullet point to the start of each discussion?

Now that both May brothers are fantasy relevant, I propose we call them Terrell and Taylan instead of May and May..

That or we call them May4 and May8 or something to denote their position like BS9/CM9 and BS13/CM13

    TM4 and TM8

If we like Pokemon, in Pokemon Red TM4 was Whirlwind and TM8 was BodySlam

So henceforth Taylan May will be known as Whirlwind and Terrell May will be known as BodySlam

Also the best part of starting with Koro and Kris is now I feel like I've already made 2 trades so I don't feel desperate to trade

Bloody hell! funny that a week ago Mikaele was the hottest prospect in fantasy and when i suggested perhaps cool ya jets because payten loves mcintyre and granville, it was met with no that simply cant be possible hahaha.

Also funny that week one substitutions are how they will sub every week for the season.

Ol bob jane may or may not be an ok buy though. Dont think i could do it.

ALL of the top 20 teams have at least 1 player, typically 3 or 4, that weren't named for their teams.

Many of them have the same weird player selections, Berrell, Iro, Geyer, Tuitavake very prevalent.

Might be the same guy that has most of them?

You over estimate how seriously most people take the game. There is probably 10-20k serious teams with the rest loading the entire squad with guns then picking whoever they can afford to round it out even if they aren't playing. Sometimes (especially early season) the guns click and they end up top of the table
