This is almost my exact scenario. 759 to creep from just outside 20k to ~19k. Using the Cleary money to pick up Hynes is basically my one guaranteed move this week. Just want a set and forget captain. I’ll be in shambles when he gets picked for Origin though.

Is Shoes a must buy this week if I’d avoided him thus far? That Dogs pack is pretty decimated, he should continue getting the minutes from here right?

Origin is my hesitation. Being ranked so poorly, my moves going forward were thinking of just focusing on the byes and players not making origin to try and claw back some ranks over that period. Some slight hesitation with Hynes getting Origin though.

No. No, man. Shit, no, man. I believe you'd get your ass kicked saying something like that, man.

He's not worth two trades, one to trade him in and one to trade him out. No.

Well done lads, keep playing as long as you can. Great fun and, in my opinion, it's one of the best things you can do for your mental health. It's hard to think about anything else when you're playing and it also provides a very welcome social outlet.

yeah it's a great outlet, and keeps me fit running around with the young lads.

Any other Teddy owners? He's been pretty good to start, but concusions are tough. Considering swapping him out for Turbo/Pong.

Way too many other fires personally I will likely have no choice but to hold and hope he's back next week.

Apart from that I think I can stomach the rest of them.

Not sure I'll trade Sitili now. Didn't he play centre most of last game? I'm going to avoid trading green dots now unless specific move like might 1 trade Murray to Hynes week before Rabbits bye

I might get him due to lack of better moves, but err towards Angus being a trap and in an ideal world where mine and everyone elses fantasy teams weren't fucked I would strongly avoid him.

That 80 mins was his first since 2022, and 2 backs being HIA and another sent off obviously mucked up rotations. His bench appearances have been Sitili-esque for fantasy prior to that game. Would love if he averages 50 from here, but could just as easily be a 30 in 55 mins guy.

This. I play twice a week, Tuesday and Thursday nights. The Tuesday one is a six (or crowded seven, or exhausting five) a side played indoors that has been going on for 25+ years with the same core crowd plus a rotating cast that have come and gone and come back over the years. Plus now that people have sons in their late teens or twenties, they and their mates sometimes come along to make up numbers. Certainly keeps the energy and physicality up when there's a mix of old and young.

It's been noted that none of the Tuesday crowd have ever got divorced, and jokingly, but maybe accurately, it's put down to having a non-negotiable time every week to run around for an hour and go to the pub for two more.

Game is indoor and walled and high speed, so works as much like basketball in that you have to play every part of the court and track everything rather than be in a particular position, but it's a good workout, especially as a few of the kids are decent level footballers (and a couple of the oldsters were before).

Thursday game is eleven-a-side dads and lads that I've only been playing for about five years since another game wound up, and I have to play CB there unless there are two even bigger lumps around, in which case I'll go to LB.
