R13 MID is bad enough without moving one of the only good options to HLF
If he doesnt have him, its an option that covers both positions for all 3 major byes. Great flexibility being able to cover both.

Yeah, to add to the pile on, many many, many years ago when this happened to me it turned out to be very positive. If I’m not mistaken, the money I was paid out ended up being part of a deposit on our first home.
Can definitely be a worry at the time, but hoping it turns into a blessing.
yeah this happened to a mate. got about 12 months worth of pay from being made redundant. took a few weeks off, and then started a better paying job. instant years worth of pay in the bank that went to house purchase

How can companies justify this sort of thing? Like surely they can repurpose an employee rather than just paying them a shitload of money to stop working for them.my tv broke wrote:

I think it was Telstra when they had a massive company restructure a few? years ago (maybe more than a few now).. he was in some kind of management position.

Don't understand the love for Dom Young at all. Scored 23 tries in 23 games last year for an average of 40. Not even 50k under starting price and no indications that he is going to average anywhere higher than 40.
Not a keeper, not a cow, not for me

Decent fixtures bar Sharks next week up to Rd 18 with bye in between. Bar the send off and 15 against Panthers he has 43 77 57 47 with single try in each. Virtually non existent ownership in top 5k if goes boom you're rank gaining big for a measly 505k

He's a valid option in that price range. Obviously isn't going to match Drinky or someone that costs $200K more, or even Kiraz at $100k more. The alternatives are May, Simonson, RTS... Even AJ is another $80k. Young will play 2/3 big bye rounds and only misses R14. Not saying he needs to be a keeper or a cow, but you need someone to play and score in your starting 13 over those weeks to accumulate points.
May's dual probably makes him a better option. But Young is scoring well and in better form, maybe tries are just base stats for him at this point. He's worth considering with the byes coming up

If the job is genuinely redundant, a one-off payment is better than continually paying them money to not do any useful work. Most companies will put someone into a redeployment pool before actually giving them a payout
Most people I know that have been given redundancy have actually been happy to take it so make sure they don't put much effort into getting redeployed.
If I was given redundancy I'd be owed well over a years worth of pay, so I probably wouldn't look too hard for another internal position

Maybe just don’t worry about a half and just get Fainu and hope he makes some money with more of those 40 scores.
I don’t know why I’m putting so much thought in at a rank of 30k

Yeah I just feel he's going to eventually miss origin, and I don't really see a better time than now with a new coach. Teddy isn't a spring chicken anymore, and certainly doesn't need to prove himself as one of the GOAT fullbacks. It's time we started looking to the future and getting guys like Edwards and Lomax some experience. Both those guys could easily play for the Blues at a high level for the next 5-6 years. Not certain it will happen, but I wouldn't be shocked to see either Madge or Teddy himself make that call this year.
For me the moment Teddy lost his Blues jersey was the Mam try in the Broncos game. Positioning was pretty much right where he needed to be to make the stop but Mam turns on the jets and Teddy doesn't even get a finger on him. 2 years ago Teddy saves that try but has clearly lost a step. It's time for the next gen

Pappy + Salmon to Garrick + Fainu
Holding Brandon Smith to see his role with Watson with Radley back. Hoping he gets a good 50 minutes at about 1 ppm. Team looks good and covered well.

Company I work for literally ask people if they want voluntary redundancy. Since it's union base guaranteed pay rises each year where the bloke who have been there 25 years is on only 40k for a year then a new worker and the reduncy plan is 52 weeks max plus holidays and sick leave added on.Milchcow wrote:
