Maybe it was just the game where he ran from 10m out back to his own ingoal that confirmed it for me.

He's played for QLD U-18s. Don't know if that's binding or not. England is in Queensland anyway.

Yeah seems like a definite Qld'er to me.

    From wiki

"Walker played his first junior rugby league for the Burleigh Bears before moving to Ipswich with his family, where he played for the North Ipswich Tigers and attended Ipswich Grammar School, where he was signed by the Brisbane Broncos."

Cody's probably the Walker some are mentioning.

I don't think we will get any. I'm taking the risk on 3-6 weeks of Cole. 3 weeks of 45s sees him make about 135k which is nearly enough. 4 weeks and it's a good trade. 6 weeks it's a slam dunk

Luai has played 9 games at halfback in first grade, none in the last 3 seasons. In those 9 games with 7 on his back, he kicked for an average of 148 km, so was really still the 6, not the 7, no matter who he was paired with.

Tigers might be a decent testing ground for him to learn to play 7, Origin isn't.

Fair enough then mate. There's certainly merit to what you're saying in holding no matter what, especially being the number 1 captain choice. There just so many unknowns like Clearly holders and like anything in the game could go 50/50. I think the smart play is to hold if you can field an okay 17, but trading I think could pay off IF he were to play the whole season.

Isn't 45s a bit optimistic for a non-kicking half? Sounds like he's not a Cogger/Schneider filling in for Cleary: Luai looks like he'll be doing all that this time.

I'm toying with Cole over Weeks, but that BE, ownership and WFB position is massive.

Cole is so cheap ill happily give him a week and see how they play. Orobably cnt keep bringing in short term guys with lacj of trades anyway.

Luai kicked 300+ m on the weekend. Unsure of the split but i assume most of that was after cleary broke

This is true, (NSW) Origin is a testing ground to learn to play Centre

Had a look at reserve stats and Cole does not appear to be much of a kicker. And yeah Luai did the majority once Cleary went off.

But think he scores well enough to settle around 35-40 avg but if its 3 weeks I hate it, if it's 5 weeks I love it.

Will probably give him a miss this week tbh if we dont hear anything on Schneider (which I agree its unlikely we will)

Isn't his true BE more like 40, after his 2 point game?
I think his real system price is more like $200k rather than the $230k floor, so that would definitely merit waiting a week for a free look

If Hynes, Moses and Cleary are all out, Luai will certainly be in the team, wearing either 6 or 7. Just no clear standouts to be next to him

Piakura is a hard one. The way broncos play, he could get a double, break 9 tackles, get 2 line breaks, run 165 metres and walk away with a 72 and start making cash… or he could keep running decoys, missing tackles, and getting replaced by fucking Jack Gosiewski

I think Cole will be doing the kicking. Luai has spent his entire career as the non kicking half and I don't think that changes

    Edit:

I also have it on good authority Cole was the dominant kicker for his under 12s team
