It might be one of those weekends where I start my mandated outdoor time this afternoon and come back inside Sunday evening Very Happy

As a general rule for the Aardvarks panic trades, last minute team switches or elaborate loops tend to end in various levels of meh

“There’s a strong tip the Rabbitohs are looking to tap Damien Cook on the shoulder at the end of this year.
Cook still has a year to run on his contract but if the Bunnies can find another NRL club willing to take him they won’t stand in his way.
South Sydney then want Cook to return to the Rabbitohs once he officially hangs up the boots to continue on at the club in an off-field role.”

That doesn’t bode well for big minutes for Cook
You’d want to give plenty of time to the heir in waiting to prepare for big minutes next year

players train with reserves when they're carrying a niggle that will keep them out that weekend. fairly normal.

eg madden trained with reserves the week that josh rogers played halves for the broncos. rogers wasn't ahead of him, madden just wasn't right to go.

i would say he's not playing this week. but hard to know beyond that..
Oh really, training when injured just seems weird no matter what the level is.

I’m gonna assign myself to the ‘Galvin is out crew’

Surely Tigers aren't dropping Galvin when Sullivan is in first grade

Would have to be injury related if he doesn't play, even if its just giving his body a rest - he's still young and playing a lot of first grade

I'm with what Milch said, not playing but dealing with an injury rather than dropped.

I think Galvin only misses this week.

He is still only 18, and Benji would understand the importance of load management for young halves better than just about anyone. Given the 5 day turnaround (Sunday in Brisbane to Friday in Townsville), it's hardly surprising that he'd give his 18 year old protege a break, especially with the bye next week.

Benji’s weird response the issue, if he’s resting Galvin or he’s got a niggle of some kind I dunno why he wouldn’t just say that? The weird evasive looking answer isn’t a good look if Galvin is out by game-time

His mouth says “yes, he’s fine” but his eyes scream “1-2 week rest for a possible wrist injury and/or freshen up as a young player”. It’s all in the eyes.

I’m hoping it was just left field to bring Galvin up at all with so little context that it threw him a little. The journo obviously doing so because he heard the internet rumour too. From Benji’s point of view he was being asked about the squad and then suddenly a very generic “and hows Galvin?”. I can actually convince myself of this narrative quite easily, therefore it must be true.
