Welcome to the Start of the 2024 Lord of the Byes competition;

It's been a tough year for the fanatics, with no teams currently in the top 200, but that also means opportunities to make gains over the next 8 weeks.

LORD of the BYES - Round 13 Results
================================

Here is a summary of the top 20 players for the first major bye round .

Congratulations to The Bludger#2 with an outstanding 821 points, and also to previous LOTB runner-up Wolfking who was the only other team manager to break the 800 point mark.

Like so many, The Bludger played a full team of 13, only his players managed a very impressive 58.6 point player average!

THE LEADERBOARD::

The top 20 movers:

Bye rounds are a great opportunity to make some big changes to your rank.
The biggest mover to start the competition was Holy Moly, who jumped a up a massive 12,235 spots.
However, this one looks like it's going to be tightly contested this year with plenty of teams close behind.

THE RANK IMPROVERS LEADERBOARD::

Finally, just some overall stats based on the round averages for players in this comp.

Quality is as important as quantity in the bye-rounds.
The average player score across all the entrants was 49.4 this year - slightly down on last year, with the average score also down slightly to 667 (vs 673 last year).
If you scored above 650 you probably made some good gains.

89% of this years Lord of the Byes team managers improved their rank this week showing some excellent early bye planning!

If you finished in the top 10 last year, you get to carry you're seeded rank through this year as one of the teams to beat

If you win the Lord of the Byes, you get a crown forever*

Is there a relative rank risers again for those of us who didn’t need to climb 12000 places 

Were we not allowed to join with our WAG teams? Mind is in the FOG, I thought that was the only requirement.

My forum names team is h2h so is fairly usefull over the byes (and just useless in general to be fair).

There is, but for whatever reason, I don't think I've put it up in the first week of LOTB in the past.

Relative Rank Improvers:

The relative rank improver leaderboard shows the percentage of teams ahead of each team prior to Round 13, that they have managed to overtake.
Well done to wolfkingwho made a huge gain in the first week of the bye period - there's quite the list of fantasy legends in there this week!

Your main team (Faringdon-Swirl) is in there, and your WAG team is probably listed in the official NRL league.

However, if a team doesn't have a NRLFF handle, then I'm they're not in the official contest - I also think WAG teams aren't really in the spirit of the competition (gives you two bites at the cherry, eh)

Below is a quick summary of the top 20 players this round.
You can of course see the unofficial full table in the Fantasy League section at NRL.com (or on the App).

Shady2K smashed round 14 with a huge 934 points.

It was also a great week for making moves in the overall leaderboard, with previous LOTB runner-up Wolfking taking a big lead over the guy who I'm told bought Angus Crichton first, and robelgordo showing that last year's top 100 overall placing was no fluke:

Most teams managed to field 17 this week, but even if you played one short but had Latrell or Wishart you probably still made some good gains.
FaringdonSwirl set the example by scoring a huge 880 points despite playing one short.

Shady2k not only had the biggest score (934 points), but he also jumped a huge 9502 places to make the largest rank jump of the week.

The Top 20 rank improvers this week:

A gain of nearly 20k ranks in 2 big weeks has seen Shady2k take a big early lead in the overall rank improvers championship, but he's closely followed by some of the fantasy elite in Mulvy and Jele as well as 2021 LOTB Champion Pain.

The Rank Improvers Leaderboard:

The relative rank improver leaderboard shows the percentage of teams ahead of each team prior to Round 13, that they have managed to overtake.
This year there are already 23 teams that have more than halved their rank heading into R13.
Well done again to wolfking who has overtaken more than 80% of the teams that were ahead of him just 2 weeks ago.
