NRL Fantasy 2024 Part 44 - Wow! No injury-free weeks?
Guest- Guest
we should lobby nrl fantasy to go back to the 25 man fantasy model...21 players as a squad size is too small the extra 4 players means the difference between fielding 14-15 players vs 17 players

100%
Was ridiculous it ever was changed from that
Much has changed since they changed to the 21 squads like the weekly bye to deal with and the 11 day stand downs for a failed HIA. Plus all the injuries.
Either that or bump up the trades by a lot

Need to be able to make 4 trades every round, not just end of season when out of trades.

I would go for bigger squad sizes but less trades. Less skill involved if everyone can just trade in all the cows they missed in the first 3 or 4 weeks then bring in guns later in the season. Make that first squad selection mean more.

I need hooker for 17 under $530k so Plath it is. Not sure whether he gets enough minutes but not getting Verrills for good score this game only to go back to bench if Foran back Rd 14

Wouldn't that just mean the wife takes ownership of the laptop by r8? Seriously though, I would much rather larger squad than more trades.

Next year you should try good team management

Yeah that’s what I mean if they don’t put back the squad size raise the trades.
If they do lower the trades and make people think about playing a nufty rather than wasting a trade since they’ll be more valuable

I’ve been looking at 16 HOK. Preference is JMK post 14 but if Egan can put a forcefield between his head and the independent doctor he’s quite underpriced for 80 mins
Also watching Clark closely today though

YEP. And I can't even blame the cans.

In the mid 90s (🫨), I remember playing an early version of EPL Fantasy in the Times newspaper. You could also pick Scottish Premier League players so I had Ally McCoist as a striker. In the opening week, he scored a hat-trick, which meant his score doubled. I would have had my name in the newspaper as it listed the top 50 teams each week but I had posted my entry (pre large scale public internet use) and it hadn't been processed in time. It appeared as "unknown team". You got something like 10 trades for the whole season in them days, which you dialled in by telephone (land line).

I for one am looking forward to the hell hole that happens when we are all scraping the bottom of our barrels at the end of the season. It is gonna be brutal, and everyone will be complaining about how bad we had it, even though we are all in the same boat
"When I played fantasy in the 70s, we did not even have trades... we had to wake up at 4 am in the morning, and make a perfume out of freshly slain wild boar to lure the players into our cars and abduct them from training before releasing them onto the field just before the game... there was no MTB site... we had to keep our ear to the playing field while they were training _ with the very real risk of some metal studs into the side of our face as we were trampled... it was a brutal pastime" [/i]

Such a joke of a season. Playing with 15. Only have Armstrong on the bye.
You got that.
I've been forced to trade CNK to another WFB just to play 16.
Armstrong / Brailey / KPP on the bye, Matto is "sick".

Did you write this with your index finger looking down your glasses at your phone. The phone of course is in some form of wallet with your cards and a little clip to hold it altogether.

I dictated it to a nubile young secretary from notes I made using my quill and ink. She sent me the final version for my approval by fax - because it's the weekend and I am at my country retreat.
