If that's the case, I missed the whole Koula disaster earlier this year so at 414K, definitely a good deal if true.

Fifita is a must have and will be in all the big teams - you will be behind the 8ball every week and hoping the other players you pick up do the business for you. I also dont think he is anywhere near Origin 3, considering Slater hasnt even had him in the squad at all.

I don't think there's any such thing as a must have outside of captaincy options. What's the difference in getting 60 points a week from Cleary or from Fifita? Obviously you want both but I don't think my team value can necessarily support that.
The trade gets me two extra players (this round and 19), say that's 100 points. Over the remaining 11 rounds that's neutral if Uto continues to average 10 a round less than Fifita and I get 180k out of it. Admittedly the cost is a trade.
Weekes and May likely become heavy sells soon unless we get really lucky with injury or suspension, doing this trade will let me go pretty close to upgrading straight them straight to Hynes + Cleary in 19/20.

Weeks was an easy sell at the end of the first half but looked pretty sharp in the second. Interesting to see what Ricky does there. But he gets a stay of execution next week.
I also have Strange and I'm pretty stoked with a 43. Will crack 500K, but could possibly stay in the team all year. 35 average so putting up a sound centre score to run home with, but we'll see.

Sure but I'm short players this round and I think Fifita plays origin 3 as well. Other players on bye this week are Foran, Campbell, Mitchell plus Haas who's already locked. I have round 19 edges covered with Cartwright and Nikora. The trade also frees up 150k for upgrades to players like May, Hands, Weekes who are going to need to be moved on soon.
There are also a lot of fallen gun options coming up over the next few rounds where I think I can score more points per dollar than having the cash invested in Fifita. I agree that selling keepers isn't normally wise and selling him could one hundred percent come back to bite me but I think there are a majority of outcomes where selling is better.

People are gonna hate it, but I don’t mind the risk. You’re getting a 17th player this week, you don’t need him R19 (where he probs doesn’t play anyway), he traditionally backs up poorly after Origin. There’s then 8 trades so can get him back if you really want.
How many trades left now?

Prior to that Koula and Garrick seemed to be the fam favourites to miss out
