If that's the case, I missed the whole Koula disaster earlier this year so at 414K, definitely a good deal if true.

Makes sense that as soon as I buy F Sharpe he becomes G Flat. He did look like he wanted the ball all game and never got it, but 22 is still a bit of a bummer for his cash gen

Fifita is a must have and will be in all the big teams - you will be behind the 8ball every week and hoping the other players you pick up do the business for you. I also dont think he is anywhere near Origin 3, considering Slater hasnt even had him in the squad at all.

I don't think there's any such thing as a must have outside of captaincy options. What's the difference in getting 60 points a week from Cleary or from Fifita? Obviously you want both but I don't think my team value can necessarily support that.

The trade gets me two extra players (this round and 19), say that's 100 points. Over the remaining 11 rounds that's neutral if Uto continues to average 10 a round less than Fifita and I get 180k out of it. Admittedly the cost is a trade.

Weekes and May likely become heavy sells soon unless we get really lucky with injury or suspension, doing this trade will let me go pretty close to upgrading straight them straight to Hynes + Cleary in 19/20.

So, Hands has become an issue. The Arthur kid looked pretty good I thought and his passing out of dummy half was much sharper than Hands. Can see them still splitting the role still so hard to see Arthur becoming a viable option.

Weeks was an easy sell at the end of the first half but looked pretty sharp in the second. Interesting to see what Ricky does there. But he gets a stay of execution next week.

I also have Strange and I'm pretty stoked with a 43. Will crack 500K, but could possibly stay in the team all year. 35 average so putting up a sound centre score to run home with, but we'll see.

It would be nice to be able to keep May around all year but it's a risk heading into the back end. At 670K, that's a pretty good chunk of cash to utilize though for a bench prop so unless Robbo promotes him (which won't happen as you say without other circumstances), might be wise to trade him. In reality being able to get a Carrigan for 100K more or even a Cotter for 30K more points to a trade out for the run home.

Think my last 2 trades will probably be Weekes and KPP. Hoping KPP gets a starting spot next week and I can hold off another week

I'm hoping too KPP can hang on two more rounds and with them winning Lucas gets another rest of comes off the bench, but watching KPP, out of the three, he's easily the weakest IMO.

Robbo has pretty good squad depth, bit surprised he isn't backing them.

Have Hands as well and agree. Think he gets another week (in the loop) but becomes my missing r19 centre and May becomes Hynes to cover halves . Hopefully Koula if he does end up getting the FB spot with Turbo back.

Strange might just end up in my team all year at this point, a centre averaging 40ish over the last 5 is a long way from my biggest issue.

Sure but I'm short players this round and I think Fifita plays origin 3 as well. Other players on bye this week are Foran, Campbell, Mitchell plus Haas who's already locked. I have round 19 edges covered with Cartwright and Nikora. The trade also frees up 150k for upgrades to players like May, Hands, Weekes who are going to need to be moved on soon.

There are also a lot of fallen gun options coming up over the next few rounds where I think I can score more points per dollar than having the cash invested in Fifita. I agree that selling keepers isn't normally wise and selling him could one hundred percent come back to bite me but I think there are a majority of outcomes where selling is better.

People are gonna hate it, but I don’t mind the risk. You’re getting a 17th player this week, you don’t need him R19 (where he probs doesn’t play anyway), he traditionally backs up poorly after Origin. There’s then 8 trades so can get him back if you really want.

    How many trades left now?

Missed the games last night, why are people trading Weekes?

Disappointing weekend so far for me, Sharpe, Katoa, Blore and Hands all underperforming. Have 3 trades left now and was hoping to have more than 0 at Round 20 but not sure if that is going to be possible. Going to make do with what I have for 19 and any trade I do from now on will be for the rest of the year.

3 before the Fifita trade. Post trade I just need a centre for a full r19 team but that's including playing Hands at HLF. If I manage to dodge injuries I think I'd use the last for something like May to Hynes otherwise I'll just cop Hands at half for a week and grab Hynes in 21 for the run home. 340k itb after the trade.

Also up to 2nd in Lord of the byes league so a bit of extra motivation to try and optimise over the bye rounds haha.

Things can definitely go wrong but I'm in the whatever's rankings of 1-2k now and season goal is to do better than last year's 250th which won't happen at this point without some things going right and taking some risks.

After a top 1k round finish last week, this weekend will lose all the gains.

342/10, including tohu, salmon, dbags, kpp and hands. Howler week and team value will hurt.

Teddy hasn't had a 100 since 2021, today is his day with the captaincy arm band. Teddy for a 103 and manu to get a few meat pies after a dry patch.

At least Hughes captain was a pass. Gonna be a tough day today with only 4 playing
