Yes, but they don't say the murder took place this year, it still took place 5 years ago. So if breaches were from previous years then the breaches are from previous. Shouldn't change the penalty.

Perhaps, I would have thought being able to prepare your training into a weekly routine would be more beneficial however an hour and a half flight to Sydney every second week could throw that out a bit.

A flight from Brisbane to Sydney is easier than a road trip to or from Newcastle or Canberra. Hell, it's easier than a road trip from Penrith to Wollongong or The Shire.

Rubbish. When does a bus get to 11000m, and how often does a Sydney team have to sleep not in their own bed. Plus if it was easier, why wouldn't teams fly on game day?

So you think it would be cheaper to fly down the day before and pay 2 nights accomodation than just fly down and back on the same day?

Oooh i missed the action in this thread, get stuck in to them Ice and HS. Scum ponies, Milfords TPA's alone probably eclipse the total of what the Eels were done for. Flip Off Finger Salt

Based on premierships, I'd have Manly equal for obvious reasons. Based on what they should be doing and how much they should be winning they're under achieving. They've had a massive advantage over a lot of the competition by playing every Friday night, they're a club that never has to pay overs to sign someone and they've got a wealth of junior talent that they have a great chance of retaining. Considering they haven't won a GF in a decade I'd class them as under achievers.

ITT: Brisbane are (at worst) the equal most successful club.

But if you murder someone every year for 5 years, the charges would compound.

You cant get caught cheating the cap and say "Well it happened in the past so nerrrrrrrrr"

    Righto. Rolling Eyes

If I take ten fish out of water and call the last one to die the winner is it still really a winner?

Either Broncos resources they're underachieving and should have more premierships, 0 in the last decade is not good enough for a club that has more advantages than most clubs.

I think you are underestimating it slightly.
For starters, they have to get to the team bus that would then take the brisbane side to the airport.
They get a flight to sydney (quicker than driving from the CBD to penrith)
They then have to get a bus from the airport to where ever they are playing.

Teams do occasionally fly from say Sydney to Canberra or Newcastle to Canberra, but most of the time they get the bus because its fucking heaps cheaper and flying from sydney to canberra is not actually that much faster driving (when you take into account getting luggage and busses to and from the airport etc)

Agreed - Sydney sides have a massive advantage over the rest of the comp.

Teams like say the Broncos should get some sort of salary cap concession to account for this discrepancy.

In all seriousness - they probably should get a concession of some kind. Not salary cap, but the NRL should give the teams a bit of a handout when they have to fly to games. I imagine that the Cowboys or Warriors travel budget would look a lot different to someone like Cronulla, who barely travel interstate this season. Or Sydney, who barely travel anywhere every season. That does put them at an operational disadvantage (although not a competitive one).

Fair point, but that component of the operational disadvantage is far exceeded by the access to corporate dollars and resulting operational advantages of playing out of 1 team Cities/Countries like the Broncos and Warriors. Absolutely no doubt about that.

Just ask the Broncos if they would rather move to Sydney, maybe become the Central Coast Broncos and never have to travel out of Sydney or if they would prefer to stay in Brisbane. I think we all know what the answer to that would be.

Swings and roundabouts. But given its in the NRLs best interest to keep the game expanding, I would think they would try to make it as attractive as possible to teams who might be located in, or considering locating in cities requiring travel. Helping with increased travel costs would go someway to doing that. Although, in the scheme of things, 25 plane tickets each fortnight would be pennies compared with the cost of running a club.

For example, the Perth Reds were in the NSW cup a few years ago and the NSWRL paid for all their travel and accom.
The NSWRL stopped doing it because it was costing too much, and club couldnt afford it so withdrew from the comp.

If so the West Coast Pirates still play in that league.
