Agree. I hate when the ref threatens the captain with "sort it out or I'll do something about it" and then does nothing except give more penalties. The penalties aren't a deterrent ref - show some cojones and get someone in the bin.

Even when I'm a neutral fan of a game I get the shits with it. Such a terrible tactic from a spectator POV.

Since round one this year it was very noticeable to me that the sharks seemingly consciously have stepped up the aggression and niggle, which given almost every other teams use of it, i love it. Has assisted in some of our wins.
Having ennis, Maloney, fiffy and gallen makes this aspect easy.
Ill take it and no guilt. Sick of other teams doing it game after game.

The other part is, the refs always look to even up the count as best they can anyway. I'll put money on the penalty count swinging back sharks way this half and all the ones against mysteriously drying up.

8-2 penalty count at halftime in favour of the raiders, half of them a joke. So it should even up.

It's probably good if it's your team and you're winning. But it makes for a crap game for the neutral.....unless some actual biff occurs as a consequence.

Oh look, 2 penalties already this half going the sharks way.... who would have thunk it!

Yeah i understand mate, but im sick of sharks being on the end of it. If it isnt addressed, then bugger it and get on the niggle train.

Nah mate, no piss taking here. But look at the squad changes and them all playing at the same time more and.more. fifita.. ennis and maloney on top of everyones fave whinger Gallen. We are primed to niggle with the best of them.
