OK so I have 21 pidgey as fate would have it. Do I sell half of them to get the candy to evolve the rest ?

How many candies have you got in total?

You basically get rid of every pokemon you have doubles of unless it's Eevee

I forgot eevee has multiple evolves and transferred one
From memory was weak cp though

I've got 40 0dd pidgey candies

Ok so you have potentially 61 candies after trading them all.

You will only be able to evolve 4 in total (cause you won't have a 5th) so get rid of all but 4 and then evolve them

You will need 75 candies in total to evolve all 3 of them, so at the end of the day it's not really going to matter cause you need more coins

Since you live on waterfront property (or close to it I'm assuming) what is the highest level Magikarp you can get before you evolve? 150cp?

I've got a level 144, haven't seen much higher than that but I would assume you could get higher.

I could probably level him up maybe 3 more times before it's full so around 170 tops I would imagine.

So you think it's worthwhile leveling mons up before you evolve them? If so I might do that to a few of mine. Got a 425cp Squirtle with enough candy to evolve it next time I use one of my lucky eggs.

Uhhh man. I just wrote a guide but I pressed back space and deleted it, I'll try remember what I wrote...

Here is a guide for you for power leveling. Basically you want to be evolving 3 main Pokemon, Weedle, Caterpie and Pidgey. The reason you want to be evolving these 3 is because they are very common and take only 12 candy to evolve. There are other Pokemon you can use for Power leveling if they are common for you, such as Zubat and Dodou (If you are like JStands).\, however they take 50 candy to evolve.

So lets start off with a small figure, lets save up 30 evolutions. It can either be 10 of each, of just a combination of all three totaling 30. You want to make sure you have enough candy to evolve them all though. There is no point having 10 Pidgeys if you only have 50 candy. So make sure you have enough candy to do all your evolutions (12 Candy Per evolution)

Before you do your evolutions, use your lucky egg. The lucky egg gives you bonus Exp for 30 minutes. So instead of getting 500exp per evolution, you will get 1000 exp.

Make sure you do it when the servers are stable, which seems to be more often. Another tip, if possible, do this power leveling somewhere in town where there is lures set up. That way you can still catch rare Pokemon that might come up with the lures.

In regards to which ones you transfer, you want to transfer your lowest level Pidgey's, Caterpies, Weedles.

Keep transferring and catching until you have a combination of 30 (Or more if you want, but 30 will be a good starting point)

Got 23 evolves waiting in the wings. Enough coin for a magic egg finally too!
Will wait a bit longer to get about 30 evolves if not more before I crack the egg.
Evolves, when I do them - should give me some significantly stronger fellas too.
